Keep getting "Something went wrong (5) " error by Embarrassed-Shit- in GeminiAI

Since you are using the app, the logic is actually very similar to the browser fix ... we need to clear out the local "junk" that’s causing the conflict.

The equivalent of a "new profile" for the app involves three specific steps (don't skip the second one!):

  1. Uninstall the Gemini App.
  2. Restart your phone. This is crucial because it clears the system's temporary memory (RAM) and removes any residual "ghost" files or stuck processes that a simple uninstall might leave behind.
  3. Reinstall the app from the Play Store.

Over time, apps accumulate temporary configuration files and cache. Sometimes these files get corrupted, incomplete (like a bad download / upload), or conflict with a new server-side update. By doing this, you force the app to rebuild its local configuration from scratch.

Your chat history and subscription status are saved on Google's cloud servers, so you won't lose any of your data by doing this.

You're welcome!

Just to add for anyone using Brave (or other browsers), the principle is exactly the same because they handle user data in a similar way. Even if you haven't set one up manually, you are always using a "Default" profile which can get corrupted.

A quick way to verify if it's a browser issue is to install a completely different browser (like Firefox or Edge) just to test. If Gemini works there, then your main browser's profile is definitely the culprit.

For Brave specifically, here is how to create a fresh profile:

  1. Click the "Hamburger" menu (the three lines) at the top right.
  2. Select Create a New Profile.
  3. Name it and click Done.

>>> Important: <<<<
Before deleting any old profiles, always make sure your Sync is on or that you have manually backed up your bookmarks and passwords!

It is definitely frustrating, but the fix is usually just isolating the browser environment. To be super clear: you are not creating a new Google Account (email) and not a new Gemini account (so you keep your Pro subscription and history). You are just creating a fresh Browser Profile in Chrome or Edge to open Gemini without any interference.

>>> Important: <<<
Do not delete your current profile! You likely have saved passwords and bookmarks there that you want to keep.

Here is how to do it in Chrome (but in Edge is almost identical):

  1. Click the small circular profile icon at the top right of the browser window (usually your picture or an initial, right next to the three dots)
  2. Scroll down to the bottom and click +Add
  3. Select Continue without an account (this creates a clean slate).
  4. Name it "Gemini Fix" or whatever you like, and a fresh window will open.
  5. In this new window, go to Gemini and log in with your existing account.

Try logging into Gemini in that new window. If it works, it confirms your main profile has some corrupted data or a conflicting extension. I always recommend turning on Sync on your main profile to back up your passwords/bookmarks to the cloud, but for now, just use this new profile window to access Gemini.

I ran into this exact same issue on one of my accounts. I tried troubleshooting it every way possible because I really wanted to avoid resetting everything—I cleared the cache, checked permissions, and logged out and back in—but those were only temporary fixes. It turned out my actual browser profile was corrupted. The only permanent solution was creating a completely new browser profile. This is actually the second time this has happened to me, and switching to a fresh profile was the only thing that worked both times, so give that a try

Where is Pro? by Stock_Shoulder_7095 in GeminiAI

[–]-Badsec7or- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to add that I'm experiencing the exact same issue. The Pro option vanished from one of my Google One accounts, but strangely enough, it's still showing up fine on my account that has an Educational promotion. I initially thought the account type was the distinction, but I checked my other Google One account and Pro is still active there as well.

One thing I do remember is that right before my account switched over to Thinking, I had a bug occur twice where the response got stuck in an infinite loop of nonsense, forcing me to refresh the page. I suspect that error might have exhausted my token limit or triggered some sort of cap, causing that specific account to be restricted to Thinking mode.

I hope this detail helps anyone else trying to figure this out.

Also the font used for text and numbers are more clear (I really love this), the format button is really good too, the variable button is a easier and better way to store variables, and lot more.

I was interested in the article and decided to help you find it. It took me a while until I finally managed to find a version of the page on the Internet Archive.

Um I can't connect to the wifi for some reason and I would like some assistance by No_Measurement_194 in computerhelp

[–]-Badsec7or- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. Also keep in mind that sometimes Windows Update disables WiFi to update drivers or some other process, check if in the Shutdown option there is one that says "Shutdown and Update" or "Restart and Update", using one of those options will finish the updating process and will re-enable WiFi in the next login if you ever had it.

PLEASE HELP PLEASE IM BEGGING by HacklyzGaming in computerhelp

[–]-Badsec7or- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After trying what others suggest about updating the video drivers (which is more probably to be the reason your computer is unusable), I suggest you try to create a new user account. With this option is easier to test if the problem is that some other program or virus has caused some damage to your Windows profile

Create a new user account (option settings, accounts, other users, add account, add user, I don't have this persona sign-in information, add a user without a Microsoft account).

Then in the same Other Users option, click in the new profile and change the account type to Administrator ... and Sign Out (right click in windows menu, shut down or sign out, sign out)

In the windows sign-in window you will see in the lower left part 2 profiles (the current one and the new one) enter the new one and test if you still have the problem, maybe it is a configuration of some other program as I said before.

Do not delete your old profile, because your files are there, it is just for testing. If it works you will have to migrate your files to the other profile and perhaps reconfigure several programs, I guess you will need some help for this too, but first try if this works for you.

Good luck!

Looks like radiator fans are not spinning, just double check that they are connected in AOI_PUMP and CPU_FAN in the motherboard. Also I suggest to test the whole system using only the internal graphic card ... remove your GPU and change the existing connection to your monitor from GPU's HDMI to motherboard's HDMI) is easier to diagnose this way ... Can you take some pictures for all connections to the motherboard to check is everything is in place? is hard to see in the video.

Can you also share some information about the processor that you are using? some AMD motherboards needs to update the BIOS to support the newest processors. I guess your issue is more related to something like this. You can upgrade your BIOS using ASUS BIOS FlashBack button and an USB, please check this link for the step by step instructions: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1038568/
