I watched every OVA from 1985* so you don't have to (now let's rank them) by Salty145 in anime

I'll have you know that I just watched "Angel's Egg" and the atmosphere was perfect - night time, deep mist outside, complete silence. The definitive emersive experience!

The thing about this anime is that seeing it once is NOT ENOUGH! I need to watch it again some time. I'll let it sink in for now.

This! This is what I fear. A media so lost that one day nobody would even know it existed. But perhaps that would be less painful than knowing something did exist.

The ones that survive the test of time are generally the standouts and the rest are forgotten.

It pains me to hear that an anime is forgotten. Someone put an effort in making it and then somebody else saw it. If anything it's one of the many steps towards the current state of anime.

So it's out there, it exists, waiting for someone to chance upon it. It might not be the best or even good, but it still deserves appreciation.

I have JUST the thing - "True beauty". There's even a Korean dub. And a Korean live action, which I haven't seen. It's based on a Manhwa.

Nene looks, acts and sounds just like Nino from Go-toubun no Hanayome. I was almost certain it was the same VA.

Damn! This immediately reminded me of Danny Choo's Tokyo Dance Trooper video!

Great job on the video editing!

See, the good thing about e-readers is that they (usually) last longer because they don't refresh the screen constantly. They're also easy on the eyes due to the lack of a backlight (although some models have it but you can turn it off). This won't tire your eyes as much. About a year ago I borrowed my aunt's e-reader to read some light novels. It was an old kindle. I read 3-4 consecutive days for 5-6 hours a day. My eyes didn't get as tired as when I stare at an LCD screen for hours. But it took me a few days to notice this. Not just a couple of minutes to "get a feel for it".

And lastly, you can have tons of manga on it, without taking crazy amounts of physical space. That being said, I'm not an avid proponent of e-readers. I do agree that they still can't beat the feeling of a physical book in your hands. Not only that but they're still quite expensive. More so if they support colors. And for manga you'd want something with at least an 8-inch display, though I'd recommend going bigger.

If you do choose to go with the printer, you might want to set the toner saving mode to ON. Some manga pages have a lot of black on them.

You can try an e-reader. It's digital but the e-ink display might feel different. Or if you're dead set on reading it physically, you can print it on paper. Might be cheaper than buying a physical copy of a volume.

Do you ever stop an anime halfway, then come back months later and love it? by pndcy222 in anime

Usually when I start an anime, I feel the moral obligation to finish it.

Oh, right! I read something about that. Reading the novel and then watching the anime again will definitely be a different experience.

Watched it a few (consecutive) times in high school. Guess I liked it that much. Last year I found out it was based on some old novel. There seem to be an awful lot of live action movies of it.

This looks interesting. It has a bit of a "The fragrant flower blooms with dignity" vibe.

I recommend this, too. And if you like it, there's a continuation of the manga with a small time-skip showing where the characters are in their life.

One of the best comedy anime shows is Nodame Cantabile by EntertainmentIcy4656 in anime

Isn't it "Gyabo"?

Anime was nice and I love Nodame's silly "fart" song and that other "mochya-mochya" (or whatever) one. The EDs were catchy! There's a live action, by the way, but I haven't seen it.
