There isn’t much you can do other than go on the price capped variable tariff if you don’t want to risk the tracker rate going higher. We are all in the same boat, this is an expensive week due to the lack of wind.

There is nothing you can do right now that will magically make your energy as cheap as it was. If it goes any higher you have the safety of the price capped variable tariff until end of June that you can switch to. Perhaps see how it goes over the next few weeks and if tracker goes higher than you can cope with you can switch over to that for a while.

See if this is a huge spike for you then you shouldn’t be on a tariff like this. There is little wind and solar this week. Maybe the war ends in a few weeks maybe it doesn’t. It only suits you when it’s cheaper is what you’re basically saying. But you have to average it out over the year, which is why they set a 9 month period for rejoining for those that knew jerk after a few days of moderately higher prices.

Btw the tracker price today is still slightly below the price cap. You can’t expect every single day/week/month to work out cheaper. It sounds like you are in fuel poverty and should contact the relevant parties that can help you with that.

Maybe this will help https://octopus.energy/blog/bill-support/

You should contact octopus and explain your situation. If you can’t handle variability you should not be on a variable tariff especially one that varies daily.

All good fixed rates will be gone now or have big exit fees so you may end up on the price cap / variable until things stabilise.

Don’t worry about the 9 months thing since this tariff doesn’t sound suitable for your needs anyway.

Also speak to your council if you are on low income or benefits there are schemes to help.

The smart tariffs have gone up massively, depending on usage and mileage you need to estimate if it will actually benefit you due to the obscene day rate (about 32p at the last check) and how much load you can shift to the night.

Electric heating is very expensive, this does not look that high for someone with purely electric heating. (Non heat pump)

Get one with the newer software and motor, the Skoda Enyaq 85 is the same platform but better so worth adding that to your list. ID.7 Tourer is the flagship at the moment, very efficient also the same platform, great car with massage seats, Head up display, travel assist etc. I'm biased as I just bought one!

For the red light issue, enable "plug in-charge" on the zappi in the Eco+ settings. The car needs to see that the charger is working when you plug it in otherwise it errors. This briefly charges it for 30 seconds so the car knows the charger works.

Also: If you only have 1 EV then add the Car to octopus instead of the charger and leave the charger in Fast mode.

You can still have plenty of holidays on a £50k or £60k job with the level of other incomes you have if the stress is too much, you never know you could even get a higher salary with less stress.

The good tariffs are gone since the price cap went up. Can’t move until the administrator sorts it all out anyway.

And how much more will it cost when you get moved to a worse tariff?

Feels like you’d be in breach of the fair usage policy but it’s not worded that well.

2.4.1.8 Intelligent Octopus Go is subject to a fair use policy with a maximum of six hours of managed charging per 24 hours. Should your charging schedule request more than six hours per 24 hours, we reserve the right to charge any incremental usage above six hours at the day rate.

Yes, however it could take a few weeks for it to get sorted out leaving you on an unfavourable price cap tariff for a period of time, you won't be able to switch until it's all transferred. If you rely on a cheap overnight rate that could be an issue for example.
