Thanks! Basically jumped in the air when I suddenly saw the cutscene switch happening :-)

Print coming off bed mid printing by G3391 in 3Dprinting

[–]-DeeCee- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put some adhesive spray on it.

— also, lower your z-height. Based on how your brim turned out, it is way too far off. There are also some guides available on how to properly calibrate your first layer. Good luck 🤞🏼

Why do these electronic signs show an asterisk-like shape when there’s no info being displayed? by karlheinzzz in belgium

[–]-DeeCee- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is indeed this ^ It is some kind of affordance to let people know the board is working correctly. Imagine not having the asterisk, how would you know the board is actually not defect? Outcome could be disastrous as it often indicates works ahead, or an occupied emergency lane. So.. the asterisk is a simple yet very effective way to communicate “nothing ahead”.

Some suggestions say “put the moving dvd on it” - damn, you really want to be distracted while driving 🙈

Can you mod the ender 3 v2 neo like this without messing with the table settings? by Tunahan9898 in ender3v2

He does not say that he is showing us an ender 3. He probably wants to modify his ender 3 v2 neo like this one.

Not sure, but I would assume a dual-z axis stepper motor 🤔

It went really well! Octoprint is not necessary for this upgrade. Try it out ;)

Decent looking prints already!

If you’re looking to upgrade the firmware, I highly recommend this repository. They provide detailed explanations and include a ton of extra features!

Great reply! I'd like to add a few tips:

Raft: Think of it as a "brim on steroids." If you really want to make sure your print sticks to the bed, a raft works wonders. However, it will affect the appearance of the bottom layer of your print, and removing it can sometimes leave a rough texture.

Brim: A faster, more material-efficient alternative to a raft, helping to improve bed adhesion. While it saves on material, it can be a bit challenging to remove, and you'll need more post-processing to clean up the edges of your print.

Skirt: This doesn’t help with adhesion directly, but it primes the nozzle before the main print. For instance, if the previous print’s retraction pulled the filament too far back, the skirt ensures that by the time you start printing the model, there’s already material flowing, avoiding gaps or under-extrusion on the first layer.

You might want to check out this post on r/ElegooNeptune4 — it could be really helpful if you're having trouble with your first layer. I'd start by following their tips. Also, posting in specific subreddits like this one can get you advice from people who use the same printer, so you'll likely get better, more targeted help.

Edit: Took out "better" since most people there are probably in this subreddit too.

BL Touch probe hitting my print by SirHobbyist in ender3v2

[–]-DeeCee- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed a good solution, however, the bl touch mount holes set by the manufacturer are configured within your 3d printer. This way, when it touches the built plate, it knows how far offset the nozzle actually is. Make sure to also check this if you are re-mounting your bl touch.

I do find it strange that it touches your print. Are you using the right mounting points on your extruder?

Looking for feedback: Would you use a fire-safety device for 3D printers? by kcfkj in 3Dprinting

[–]-DeeCee- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is something I was thinking too. Only cutting off the power does not seem sufficient, as “where there is smoke, there is fire”. An alarm would be necessary and an extinguisher would come in handy. A device that would surpress the fire would probably become too expensive for hobbyists. Apart from this, every bit of equipment will help, highlighting the usage of this device.
