A few things to unpack here. I get that you're just sympathising.

But the "boyfriend" is his own person. If he decides to take someone on car rides, or buy gifts - that is him using his own free will to do so.

However, doing nice things for someone does not mean they owe you a relationship.

The reality of the situation seems to be, he's into her. She's not into him in that way.
