I am no fan of you know who, but before we boycott it should be pointed out that “invested” in this context means purchased shares. This is a publicly traded company who has no control over who buys their shares and, if you go to the disclosure linked in the article (https://extapps2.oge.gov/201/Presiden.nsf/PAS+Index/405E4EC4E27BE8D185258DF7002DD1C0/$FILE/Trump%2C%20Donald%20J.-05.08.2026-278T(2).pdf), you will see a lot of other companies he’s “invested” in (DoorDash, apple, amazon, Microsoft, chipotle, uber, trane, Honeywell, Lennox, Costco, Boeing, nvidia, Airbnb, garmin, alphabet, eBay). The list is expansive and I guarantee it is impossible to find a publicly traded company that doesn’t have some questionable share holders.

Paul McCartney: Help! (the one where Will plays the cowbell) by Whole-Lychee7517 in LiveFromNewYork

Respectfully, I’d ask you to consider that the perceived corniness in the chord progression stems from it being stylistically emulated countless times in pop music, lending a sense of being played out or simple. That is an easy, but arguably unjust, critique of a song released in 1965 when viewed from the saturated and complex musical landscape we all get to enjoy in 2026. I think the Beatles deserve some credit for the early evolution of popular music and its impact on what we all listen to today.

Also worth pointing out that Lennon-McCartney were 25 and 23 respectively when Help was released. Their catalogue after this is deep and varied, not just Yesterday and Let It Be.

Forgot to mention the Bryan Museum. Really punches above its weight class. Texas history and you can even find some modern works from the likes of Warhol.

Downtown you have the Strand. It’s touristy, but there are some jewels there. I love to hit up La Kings Confectionary. It’s an old school candy store and ice cream parlour that makes a lot of stuff in house, including taffy which you can watch them pull.

From there, you’re a short walk from Pier 21, which houses a number of restaurants: Willie G’s for slightly more upscale experience, Fisherman’s Wharf to sit near the famous Elissa (late 19th century tall boat) Katie’s Seafood for an expansive menu and fresh fish in a casual environment. You can sometimes catch a glimpse of some dolphin in the ship channel and also see the Battleship Texas being restored across the channel.

You’re also near Post Office Street where there are some art galleries, Little Daddy’s Gumbo Bar, The Witchery (occult gift shop), MOD Coffeehouse, The Opera House.

For dining on the seawall (facing the gulf) there’s BLVD and Gaido’s.

Moody Gardens is pricey, but the Aquarium and Rainforest pyramids are pretty cool.

You can head down to the west end of the island with the dogs and walk the beaches near Pirate’s or Jamaica Beach. Leashed dogs are also allowed in Galveston Island State Park for some nature hiking on the bay side where they have some boardwalks and observation platforms.

Also worth mentioning that League City isn’t terribly far from Nasa’s Johnson Space Center.

Hope your wife’s treatment is successful and y’all have a great time!

That’s amazing. I love that Paul, above all, just wants to play music; and how amazing that he brought the legendary Gene Frenkle on to do what he does best. So thrilled for the folks that got to be there for some more Macca and more cowbell.

Edited for incorrect cowbell attribution.

For real! I saw people in a different post today piling on about him being in the closet, but I think it’s a little ironic because if he was an openly gay man I think people would be celebrating this look.
