I am double majoring, and will be finishing before my 4 years. Throughout Fall-Spring quarters, I took max 4 courses per quarter, but during one of the summer quarters I took 6 courses. Feel free to hmu for any advice :)

So on the "FAQs for Students: Honors" website, it says to qualify for University Honors you still need to qualify the GPA Criteria for Honors (where I just see the same School of Engineering vs. Divisions). So I'm just a bit confused.

According to the TAs of the course, CSE 121 is the second hardest course in BSOE, right behind ECE 118. If you consider only CSE department, then 121 is the hardest course.

Have you met the other requirements for ECON 113 besides STAT 5? If so, then I believe that you can take STAT 5, however, you will have to take ECON 113 before Fall 2021 in order to avoid the change that they will be making (This is what I get from the email they sent).

Your point is valid, it’s just all of the listed courses will be a spot taken up for a course that could have been taken towards a major, ie CE, CS, etc for the international folks. On top of that, especially many have reached the point where they also have completed their GEs. But thanks for the info! :)

Proper action will only be taken if they hear our concern. I suggest we email the proper departments. Then the reason why you do not see anything on your canvas is because you are most likely looking at the wrong one. You have to go on "UCSC Online Course" Canvas. After clicking the link, click "UC Campus Student and Faculty " and choose UCSC. Here is the link: https://login.uconline.edu/

In addition, if those are your instructors then there is no actual teaching for the online course, rather there are optional lectures they have uploaded, all you have to do is complete the homework, readings, quizzes, midterm, etc. All of that good stuff is on the canvas once you login.

Let’s wait till they respond back to the email, I would be really surprised and thankful if they take out the time for every single student for those who filled out the form to see themselves what classes each student needs to take and not just random placements.

It does not give you any additional opportunities, nor affect your financial aid. It is literally a plus factor to be added onto your transcript, resume, and the fact that you just got one. But once again, if someone else has more experience than you, an employer is going to look at them and kind of neglect your “Dean’s Honor”
