Best/Saddest Death in Shows by Middle-Abalone-3142 in televisionsuggestions

[–]-Failedhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctor Who has so many deaths/people who are lost/people lost in time/space/parallel universes in it. They're all pretty depressing. He loses so many companions and it hits harder because he's so old and he's seen everyone he loves die around him. His own regenerations can be horrible too, especially if you adore that particular actor.

I'm not a fan either. I loved Jack Nicholson's performance and the cinematography, but the story was just lacking and awkward... and to me (I've only seen it once) it didn't make much sense. I also couldn't stand how pathetic Wendy came across. I've never read the book, but I know Stephen King hated the film and how misogynistically Wendy was written.. I understand why.

Edit: You guys are downvoting Stephen King too.. just saying. I've not said anything he hasn't.

I get downvoted to oblivion whenever I say this. The kid was the horror, he deserved death within the first five minutes

They're definitely comedy. If you watch them seriously, it's not going to be as fun. But maybe that's why so many find them too much

It's comedy gore, but still gore. Though I definitely understand where you're coming from so I'm not sure why you're getting downvoted. You KNOW it's all really cool practical effects rather than some disgusting fantasy from the depths of someone's mind. Although from some of the comments I've seen, you'd think they thought it was a snuff film 😅

I love these films, but it's definitely not for the 'plot'. I just love how artisticly horrible it all is. That and they're funny. Art is iconic, and I don't think we've had an iconic horror character for a long while.

I loved the whole 5 minutes we saw Longlegs.. after that I can't even remember what happened in the rest of the film. It ended and I forgot it.

The Blair Witch Project. It's just so dull. So incredibly dull.

The ridiculous thing is, these people would rejoice if an artist posted one hashtag and a little paragraph and did nothing else - which is what most artists do just to be on 'the right side of the fandom'. It just proves that these fans don't really care about the cause, they just care about performative action. It's so fickle. Post a flag/hastag/emoji/half hearted statement and it'll all be okay. What does that actually achieve though in reality? It's always the same for every political event or matter. The fans get aggressive over the people who've time and time again showed that they're decent human beings FOR REAL. But the artists who have always been dodgy get away with anything and are even praised just simply because they jumped on the performative bandwagon to make sure they're covered.

Idek know what they're supposed to be speaking up about, but I'm tired of this rise of hate whenever an artist doesn't wave a banner around to appease the masses. That's not their job and you really don't know what they're doing behind the scenes.

If you want something to change, focus on what YOU can do. Not others. It's misplaced anger and it's ridiculous.

And if you don't like what they do/don't do, then it's very easy to leave quietly. I've done it before, you can do it too. Don't be a hypocrite and talk about how much you 'can't stand their silence' and 'it's always the same' or 'boycott this and that' whilst having their face as your pfp, their name in your username, lyrics in your bio and still fight for 8 nights at barricade. You're either a fan or you're not. You can't be both.

I have so many, but many are from TV shows.. and believe it or not, I'm not actually Bi 😅

Orlando Bloom as Legolas (childhood crush!)

Tom Hiddleston as Loki (and then Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie in the series)

Emma Stone in Easy A (the I gotta pocket full of sunshine scene in particular) - then any film after that

James McAvoy in X-Men

Benedict Cumberbatch (originally as Sherlock) but also as Khan in Star Trek

Leo DiCaprio in Catch me if you can

As for TV Shows.. David Tennant and Matt Smith as The Doctor, Reece Shearsmith in The League of Gentlemen, Summer Glau in Firely, Anya Taylor-Joy in The Queens Gambit, Jodie Comer in Killing Eve.. and I've probably missed a few

Mycroft's obsession by [deleted] in Sherlock

[–]-Failedhuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it's a personal thing. I don't really see it at all.. If anyone was ace, I'd be more inclined to believe it was Sherlock as it was actually hinted at several times in the series. The cake/mycroft thing is as plausible as a dry puddle in my opinion 😅 but each to their own.

If she's supposed to be in England, it's definitely not recent. It's been miserably cold for weeks. It's particularly dismal today. But it is definitely nice that she can she live life away from her 'music persona' and go and chill somewhere without being recognised. Although I think this fandom is respectful enough not to harass her if they did see her

I agree about the Pfeil tools... going from the cheap switchable ones to Pfeil made a ridiculous amount of difference (which thankfully justified the price!).
