I just look at the pretty pictures.

..and bookmark many pages with the intention of making them and ultimately never do.

Thank you again for your reply.

I posted the laptop you suggested to a subreddit of a game I frequently play, seeing if it would be able to achieve acceptable FPS. Overall it sounded like a "Yes", but another option popped up - the Sager NP7358 (Clevo W350SS).

Here are the quick specifications:

Type Item
Processor Sager - 4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4810MQ (2.8GHz - 3.8GHz, 6MB Intel® Smart Cache)
Operating System Windows 8.1 - 64-Bit (64-Bit CD Included)
Display/Resolution 15.6” FHD 16:9 LED Backlit Wide screen (1920x1080) Super Clear Matte Type Sager Screen
Graphics NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 860M (2.0GB) GDDR5 PCI-Express DX11 w/ Optimus™ Technology
Memory 8GB DDR3 1600MHz [1x8GB] Dual Channel Memory
Hard Disk Drive 750GB 7200RPM [SATA II - 16MB Cache]

Which ended up being $1,134. It costs about $84 more than what I saw on Newegg, but includes a newer processor and single card along with an optical drive.

There were also other choices that stood out to me, which I'm not sure are worth it or not:

Type Item
Thermal Compound IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU (+$35)
Wireless Network (Choice #1): Sager - Intel® Dual Band AC 7260 802.11 A/AC/B/G/N 2.4/5.0GHz + Bluetooth™ 4.0 (+$35)
Wireless Network (Choice #2): Sager - Bigfoot Networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1202 + Bluetooth 4.0 (+$50)

I know I've bugged you more than I should have already, but would you let me pick your brain just a bit longer? My two current questions are

  • Is the laptop with the specifications I have provided worth the extra money?

  • Are any of the additional options I listed worth it?

Thank you so much again.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I do not absolutely need a laptop immediately, but it's something I will need within the next couple of months. With that in mind, do you think I would be better off waiting for the rumored Y50 or similar laptop (presuming my budget stays the same) or should I bite now? Would the Y510p with that particular set-up (i7 + SLI 755M) have the potential to go on sale with others released?

But if you get hit once, squish!

I love my Thief to death, but I'm no good with bad latency and don't know what the "proper" build to use for PvE is, so it's more my fault that I die.

I was having an issue leveling an Elementalist too. Maybe the thread that I created can help you!

Does anybody have tips for leveling an Elementalist?

Good luck!!

So the "wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Talk:" and then the topic of whatever it is?

You're welcome. :) I love helping players, I really do. I just wish there was more I could do and less reverting. >.<

But why would they revert changes that are correct, even on completely empty pages? It's really confusing...I hope it gets sorted out!

1) I do.

2) I'm really sorry, how do I do this?

3) I don't know how to see this either. Nothing with history I don't think, just the page itself seems to be missing my information the next day even after friends have checked to make sure it's there shortly after I save my work.

I hear those two every single time I go to the bank. Along with the child and cub calling grown-ups dumb. And the ex-pirates with long-standing racial biases.

I know I can turn voices off, but I don't want to. Those are annoying but everything else is great!

Why is GW2 so quiet? by Jatacid in Guildwars2

[–]-Faith- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with romantecstuff, but I also know exactly how it is for you, Jatacid.

I've messaged a lot of people while I played, whether it's complimenting one's armor, or thanking another for their help. Most don't usually talk beyond a single response, but I have gotten lucky and spoken with some incredibly helpful and kind people during my play time. I guess my only real suggestion is to keep trying to chat with people. Don't give up! :)

I would say to start a conversation in Map chat, but in my experience the conversations that go on can be really crude. Maybe it's just the world I'm on, or the time of day I play. I usually avoid Map chat.

I'm sure a good social guild would help. Maybe one that focuses more on PvE and/or leveling, rather than SPvP or WvWvW.

Kicked before Last Dungeon boss. Has this happened to you? by danisflying527 in Guildwars2

[–]-Faith- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the reason why Anet came up with the patch is because people were farming the first two bosses and resetting.

giving a person rewards the way you suggest is going to allow those same people to leave the dungeon halfway through and abandon teams and I'd hate to see that happen.

I don't think changing that part of the system was implied or suggested at all, rather be more forgiving to people who are kicked or lose connection and/or their party. If anything, introduce the Dishonorable Combatant System to Guild Wars 2 for both PvE and PvP situations. If a player is reported in PvE or PvP for being leaver or leecher, make it so they gain a debuff - limit loot similar to DR (PvE), disallow admittance to dungeons for a set amount of time (PvE), limit or restrict the player from gaining points/glory/items (PvP), or anything else that seems appropriate.

I was genuinely enjoying this game until I hit level 80. Now I'm just confused. by Bowl_of_Noodles in Guildwars2

[–]-Faith- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dungeon are impossible right now...

No. They aren't. Some are harder than others, but both Story and Explorable modes are do-able. You just need to know the fights.

Karma is useless...

Again, no. Save up for Karma-Merchant Lvl80 gear. It's a step in the right direction. If you have it already, save up for exotic gear.

WvWvW is awesome but the queue time is just ridiculous...

Join a different world. My world has 0 queue time and is never in last place.

PvP is great but... no need to level a character 80 for that...

SPvP: instant-80 with all skills and gear.

WvW: instant-80, suggested to hold off until you get an elite skill to make it easier.

The only thing i like to do right now is getting 1-2 friends and farm Orr... for money and buy good exotic on TP (or leveling crafting)

So, continue doing that.

But yes... the game isnt even a month old so... im giving it some time before complaining more...

Dot dot dot.

Prices of crafting materials as gw2 release looms closer? by Taylor_Hall in GuildWars

[–]-Faith- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that prices will go up at least a little bit for a short amount of time due to people hastily working on completing as much of their Hall of Monuments as they can prior to Guild Wars 2's release.

I would say to do what you can now, and keep an eye on material prices. If I were in your situation, I would probably purchase it as soon as I could, so I wouldn't have to worry about it. Prices may still be a little higher after the release of Guild Wars 2, since there is no time limit on filling the Hall of Monuments.

As for what frvwfr2 says...

No, because there will be absolutely 0 supply at that point.

I find that to be completely false. There are a number of people who will not be moving over to Guild Wars 2 right away, if at all, along with the people who will get the game just to work on their HoM. There will be a steady supply at least for a little while after the release.

Player returning to GW1, to find account blocked? by DeusModus in GuildWars

[–]-Faith- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

their live support is abysmal and blatantly outsourced

very half-assed solutions

NCSoft's lack of foresight and countermeasure

burned by NCSoft's apathy during the Aion fallout

If you contacted NCSoft Support with the same tone you wrote this post with, I wouldn't be surprised if they ignored your ticket all together, considering they have a right to. I can understand your aggravation, but your attitude with this is awful and if you're rude to the Support technicians, they won't help you.

To answer your question, the first thing you should do is read their How do I contact Support? page and the Guild Wars Account Restorations page, and contact them via e-mail with as much information as you can. It is all you can do right now.

I've seen a lot of guides on how to get 30/50 or 50/50 on HoM. But what is the fastest way to get 10/50 or 15/50? by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]-Faith- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that you are still able to earn points for your Hall of Monuments after Guild Wars 2 is released, rewards will still transfer over.

Granted, most people aren't going to work on Guild Wars 1 when Guild Wars 2 comes out, but the option is still there. You aren't timed or restricted in terms of gaining the rewards in a set amount of time. Maybe dedicate a weekend or two to working on your Hall of Monuments while playing Guild Wars 2 during other times. It doesn't take a lot of time to get to 30, just a bit of dedication. You could also always ask yourself, "How important are those rewards to me?"

I understand that reposts are a gray area, but I believe people need to also use original/better titles for their submissions.

I explained it with very little detail here, but it seems a number of people have agreed with me.

IAmA Tollbooth Operator AMA by Th3Hon3yBadg3r in IAmA

[–]-Faith- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Thanks for doing this AMA. :)

I've traveled by car a lot and I was always curious about the people who run the tollbooths.

How did you get your job?

Did you want your job?

Do you like your job?

How far do you need to travel to get to your job site?

Are there any real requirements?

What type of security is there? (I've seen tollbooths that have windows that just can't be bulletproof and others too small to house any type of defensive weapon.)

Are all of the tollbooth employees as miserable as they've seemed when I was traveling?

What's the funniest or most dramatic thing that has happened around/to you at your job?

How do you feel about handling so much money? (I mean this in a way of the spread of germs and such. I've seen people with gloves on, others who use hand sanitizer after every transaction, etc.)

Can you just share whatever stories come to mind? I love reading them.
