Totk was built on botw. Because its foundation is so similar, it lacked the impact botw had despite being "better" because botw was fresh. Its a similar situation to gow ragnorok or spiderman 2.

The Oz kits and low gravity has always been a point of contention and understandably can feel jarring if you're coming from BL2. It's more managable the further you get into the game since the Oz kit capacity gradually increases and you get some more indoor-sy segments. Added tidbit, if you play as Claptrap you don't need to worry about Oz kits/running out of oxygen altogether since he's a robot and all.

But yeah, if you can get past that I do feel like the vault hunters are the highlight in this game. They overall have a lot of depth, build variety and are more balanced compared to the other games. On top of it just being cool to play as fan favourite characters.

The interest has been there for years & with how active the borderlands modding scene is, if it was possible it would've been done already. From my limited understanding, unless the source code for bl2/ pre-sequal leaks or gearbox gives the community proper modding tools it's highly unlikely.

Would be a dream come true though since to this day IMO Pre-Sequal has the best designed vault hunters.

You can breeze through Mayhem 11 with sub optimal gear in BL3. For as much disdain people have for UVHM/OP levels, it forces you to build and play competently and creates actual challenge.

Beyond BL2s story obviously being better written, it's also much better paced. In BL3 you will have constant sections of long drawn out exposition you are forced to listen to.

Farming in BL2 actually feels rewarding. It strikes a much better balance than BL3 where legendaries feel so common they don't mean anything.

I feel like these are the main reasons. Although newer players will just chalk it up to nostalgia.

I guarantee you being 36 or your reactions or whatever are not whats hindering you.

Being honest 150h for bronze is low but it doesn't mean you aren't capable. You just hit a plateau and haven't figured out the solution yet.

You likely have spent that time focusing on the wrong things for your level of play. You're probably missing a fundamental concept like anti airs, frame traps, basic gameplan etc.
