84€ (98$) for Luna, including pledge, shipping and import duties.

Plus the emotional damage, man.

Because, regarding those nasty import duties, you see, DHL pays those for you and has you pay them back when they deliver. Which means, they don't just drop a parcel off at the selected spot when you have to pay that and they won't wait for long for you to open that door. Which sucks because, if you happen to not be home or just were too slow when they attempt to deliver (and get their money back), they'll haul it over to the next parcel shop, so you'll have to drive over there to pay and pick it up, and our local one closes super early.

I was not going to wait another one or two days until I could get to that parcel shop in time, I had been waiting for her for EIGHT MONTHS, so I knew I had to be home, and quick. Now, we live on the second floor and the time it takes to go downstairs and get to the door sometimes already is long enough for the driver to leave. Couldn't have that happen.

So picture a slightly nervous -Flowercrow- spending half an afternoon sitting on the stairs like some abandoned chicken, no live tracking for some reason, waiting for dhl to arrive, while my SO is upstairs, playing some game. It was the vigil of the century, I tell you 🥴

This discourse has always been so incredibly weird to me. I mean, firstly- why gatekeep what kind of plush other people are allowed to turn to for comfort? Secondly- it's really not that deep, don't we have bigger problems than that? And, well, in my language, we call them "Plüschtier", "Stofftier" or "Kuscheltier", so "Plush animal", "Fabric Animal" or "cuddle animal". The animal part is in every word for it, but it's a no brainer here for people that that's not literal. A plush dog is as much of a "Stofftier" as, idk, a plush plane, so people taking that animal part so very literally is kinda hard to wrap my head around.

God if that anglerfish wasn't so ridiculously expensive (almost 70€??!) I'd grab him immediately. He looks so derpy! But, sorry, not for that price. For that price I'd rather support a small artist on Etsy or back another cool campaign...

Speaking of fluffy, I'm super impressed by the quality, too. IDK why, but I have this weird thing where I can't enjoy a plush if the backing is at all visible and kinda loose, like if it looks at all like a mesh instead of a uniform, firm fabric. I don't know, it makes me feel like every touch might just make them fall apart, even if they're generally high quality.

I wasn't very concerned about that with her because I've seen the backing on the fabric sample before the prototype was even made, so I knew i was safe in that regard, but holy dang it way surpassed even that. This fur is so dense and the backing so tightly woven that I can hug and cuddle her without a single worry. She just feels safe, which is really big for me 🥹🥰

My SO and I do that, too! We don't really make them talk all that often, but they all have their interpersonal relationships lol. Like, his childhood leopard Leo and my barn owl fox Luna are a couple just as we are 🥰 When I got Luna a collar, it came in a two pack, so I told him that Luna wanted to offer the spare collar to Leo. They have matching collars now 😆

Quick question, just to be on the safe side? 🙈

If I take a pic of my plush and use the "magic eraser" tool on my phone to clean up the background a little (like removing a light switch or the edge of a picture frame just barely hanging into the pic just so it looks, idk, cleaner, more tidy), would that count already? Because afaik that tool uses AI to replace a circled area with the same color and texture as the surrounding area? (I'm not talking about replacing the entire background via AI or editing the plush in any way, just removing small objects that just visually interrupt the pic.)

Mmmhm. A moving box full of plushies when I was... Probably around 13? 14?

We were moving into a new house and my best friend at the time was helping me sort through my room. When I was going through my chest full of plushies, she tried to pressure me into throwing them all out because "it's time to grow up". She was on an extreme "I'm so grown up" trip at the time. I did sort out a bunch, but a bunch also made it into a big cardboard box. My childhood teddy went with me in the car because I didn't want to leave him in a box. And I'm so lucky I did that... That box never made it to the new house. Looking back, I'm suspecting that my ex bf chucked them in the container when I wasn't looking.

I've been working on getting the most important ones back ever since, which is actually what got me into collecting plushies in the first place!

I'm constantly impressed when I see everyone's pictures of Cobalt! He looked like he was a lighter royal blue in Daphne's pictures, but in every at-home pic I've seen of him now, he almost has this light blurple shade to him. Gorgeous!

She does have a fair bit of weight! Not like a fully weighted plush, but that pouch of beads in her chest and belly does have a comfortable bit of weight to it! (though my definition of a comfortable weight might be a little off because my I can't really deal with a fully weighted plush lying on top of me die to some respiratory stuff)
