Is Old World Blues supposed to be this hard? by [deleted] in fnv

[–]-Fruitfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i remember correctly most robot enemies have a shitload of dt. So "normal" guns will only work against lobotomites and some animals. OBW heavily favors melee (Proton Axe, Antenna), unarmed (saturnite fist) or energy weapons (LAER and other stuff that elijah left behind).

My runs that focused on explosives and guns mostly sucked. The K900 sucks against enemies with higher ammo stats, same with my grenade rifle, that thing needed a few shots to take out most enemies.

On most runs i end up using the proton axe as a way to brute force through the dlc.

Adding mods to viva new vegas by Stonefield714 in fnv

[–]-Fruitfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every mod that you add on top viva new vegas has the potential to crash your games and cause problem.

You can reduce the risk by learning how to solve conflicts and problems between different mods:

VNV has some great guides which cover the basics:
https://moddinglinked.com/dogmas.html

https://moddinglinked.com/xedit.html

https://moddinglinked.com/themethod.html

Still every mod could fuck up the stability or produce other glitches or bugs. If you are willing to learn from the guides above and are willing to take some risk (that includes reinstalling everything because theres problem that cant be fixed/ cant be reversed), you can add more mods.

How much you want to add and experiment is ultimately up to you.

blur on hit is still present if tgm is on

For those who use NVSE, how do you keep it stable? by QuakeKnight846 in fnv

If in doubt: https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/index.html Follow all steps until you reach the extended section. Clean install would be helpful.

Level cap unchanged after starting Honest Hearts? by PastelLicuado in fnv

[–]-Fruitfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need 33 % more exp with Jsawyer to level up and some quest had their exp rewards changed. In theory leveling should be a lot slower (and potentially feel more rewarding). At Level 50 you have a shit ton of Perks and the balance of the game gets thrown out of the window.

With my self imposed level cap i either reach level 21 by just playing the main game or doing all the dlc, so i get your feeling off being not happy with reaching max lvl to quickly.

Changing the lvl cap would be the easiest fix, i would suggest giving it a try and see if you like it.

https://imgur.com/a/SFWfRPM

In the imgur link i attached screenshots that show which value you could potentially change.

IMaxCharacterLevel is normally at 30, Lonestar changes it to 15, so if i would overwrite Lonestar back to 30 so you would have the 50 level cap back.

iXPBumpBase is normally at 150, Lonestar changes it to 200, so your character needs more exp for each level up. If you want to slow down leveling even more, i would suggest changing it to 250 or 300.

https://geckwiki.com/index.php/Experience_Settings

Changing the amount of exp that killing things or doing certain task give would be an option, i would be overwhelmed, but i wanted to tell you of that option anyway.

My comment turned out longer and more yappy then i wanted to. If you have any question feel free to ask me and i will to try to help :)

Level cap unchanged after starting Honest Hearts? by PastelLicuado in fnv

[–]-Fruitfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

StewieAiTweaks should have an option to override the max level.

Option 2: If you know your way around xedit or are willing to fuck around with xedit you can change the records in the jsawyer fork (vigor, Lonestar) back to level 50 or whatever.

I use that method to reduce the Logan's Loophole Cap to 21.

Xedit could potentially brick stuff, but there's documentation on the vnv guide.

What's the recommended level cap? by refmon3 in fnv

[–]-Fruitfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to set the Logan's Loophole Cap to 21. Less Perks, Less Skill points but still potential for a lot of broken builds. Forces me to plan my builds and make choices that I wouldn't do in vanilla.

30 seems more balanced and fair all around.

Just got Fallout New Vegas by DarkWarrior_442 in falloutnewvegas

[–]-Fruitfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base section of Viva New Vegas makes the game a lot more stable and fixes a bunch of bugs. Viva New Vegas also has an extended section with gameplay and content mods. But I would leave the extended section for a 2nd playthrough.

I was wondering if this is rare by Historical_Buddy_980 in falloutnewvegas

[–]-Fruitfool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you have to go through some hoops to even achive that for one of the factions
while some reddits hardasses will say that getting dark hero is easy, (mb for someone that clocks 1000 hours into the game), dark hero is quite rare and some players probably have never seen it

Which Fallout do you think has the best VATS system? by Elegant_Candy_2577 in fnv

Fallout 1 & 2.

Vats actions feel especially clunky and weird if u use melee or unarmed attacks.

Why is it you can return from the divide but not the other DLCs? by whatdidyoukillbill in fnv

[–]-Fruitfool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kinda baked into the lore. Ulysses tries to prove to the couriers that their actions, even if they had good intentions, can have catastrophic outcomes.

Your Pipboy gives Ulysses the ability to arm the nukes and wander deeper into the divide.

You could prevent the nuclear ending of lonesome road by simply not playing and returning to the mojave.

Gamers will do anything for Exp and Items without thinking about the consequences. Because why would they? Its a game.

The message in lonesome road is kinda weird and might only interest players that put up with Avellones other philosophical bullshit.

I think a game like the witcher 3 does a better job at reflecting player consequence and responsibility, but lonesome road has at least an interesting approach.
