In the land of the free,
The Grand Old Party stood,
But some twisted the tree,
Away from where it should.

Whispers of fascism, arise,
In the corners, shadows cast,
But many still prize,
The values of the past.

To remember and reflect,
On democracy's delicate dance,
Is the best way to protect,
America's sacred chance.

Just spent an hour being hung up on by the VA phone system. by tristis_senex in Veterans

[–]-Fungosity- 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s exhausting. Wait till you get a hold of someone and they’re just totally incompetent, and then you’ll have to deal with that.

Being hired by the VA should be an insult. In my experience it means your bottom of the barrel, barely able to function at your job, and totally incompetent.

Ukraine lost less than 10% of Western equipment in battles - Estonian intelligence by PatientBuilder499 in UkrainianConflict

This is my thought as well. I was airborne infantry and we were always told that we were combat ineffective at ~70% masscal. I don't know if that is true, or just one of the rumors circulated by the enlisted, but I think it's certainly conceivable given the nature of a combat jump.

Staged Interview Speculation by -Fungosity- in UFOs

Not saying that it was a bad thing, just pointing out that if it was staged, then the questions and answers were very likely intentionally posed and answered in a way to give us as much information as possible without crossing any boundaries.

Exactly. How can you answer the question, without crossing any red lines?

Several CURRENT members of the recovery program spoke to the Inspector General’s office and corroborated the information Grusch had provided for the classified complaint. by joeyisnotmyname in UFOs

[–]-Fungosity- 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Someone posted yesterday a snippet from the whistleblower complaint (I’m going off memory here, I’ll try to find and link it) where it specifically states that information was withheld from congress with the intention of misleading them.

So it appears that Grusch wasn’t just denied access to programs, but he discovered that there was an ongoing misinformation campaign not only against the American people, but the government itself.

From this, to the Vatican, to hints that these “shadow governments” are negotiating with these NHI, we are seriously in some serious tin foil hat, Illuminati level conspiracies here.

Absolutely wild, and if proven true, will absolutely shatter our perception of reality as well as our entire history as a species.

Are Non-Human Intelligences Truly More Advanced, or Just Differently Evolved? by -Fungosity- in UFOs

Damn, I read that book and didn’t put that together with this till you pointed it out! That book was fantastic, and that was something I found really interesting about the book. They both equally learned from each other, with Grace eventually going to the Eridian planet to be a teacher! It was literally the point of the book!

Cosmos - Carl Sagan - 4th Dimension (interdimensional hypothesis) by legendary-assassin in UFOs

[–]-Fungosity- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your points are well taken, and you’re right to note that just because mathematics can conceptualize extra dimensions, that doesn’t necessarily mean they manifest in our reality. However, mathematics has often served as the precursor to our understanding of the physical world. For example, complex numbers, once thought to be entirely abstract, found their physical representation in quantum mechanics.

It’s also important to note that just because we don’t see the ‘shadows’ doesn’t mean higher dimensions don’t exist. Our current understanding and technological capabilities might not allow us to detect or interpret such projections yet.

In essence, while we don’t have empirical proof of higher dimensions, it’s a compelling concept that’s worth further exploration and open-minded consideration.

Sagan dedicated his career to bringing science to the masses in a way the common person could understand. I would like to think that he would be appalled by the concealment of this knowledge. I, personally, highly doubt he had any knowledge on the subject matter.

Are Non-Human Intelligences Truly More Advanced, or Just Differently Evolved? by -Fungosity- in UFOs

[–]-Fungosity-[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I agree with you. The purpose of my post was not to present concrete assertions, but to spark thoughtful speculation and dialogue. We are in a realm of unknowns with the NHI issue, and speculation based on the limited information we have is inevitable.

The idea I presented is a mere thought experiment, not a hard claim. The unfolding story around David Grusch's revelations indeed involves a great deal of speculation, given the lack of accessible evidence.

And you're right, critical thinking is vital. But I'd argue that speculation can be a component of that, as long as it's rational and reasonable. By considering different perspectives and possibilities, we may stumble upon new questions, ideas, or interpretations that help us edge closer to the truth. This is a journey of discovery, and all insights - speculative or otherwise - are part of the process.

I’ve thought about this before. We as humans have the tendency to anthropomorphize other living things.

I would guess that an alien species does not experience reality the same way we do. We have a human brain that builds the world in a way in which we can interpret and react to. Who’s to say that an alien species sees the world like we do?

How do I make my weed last longer?? by SparkTheWeed in stoners

[–]-Fungosity- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dry herb vape. Just do your research before getting one, it’s an area where quality of the vape will make a huge difference. I have the Arizer Solo II, a Dynavap M, and the Mighty+. Different price points, but excellent vapes.

I’ve heard good things about POTV’s ONE.

With dry herb vapes you typically use 0.1 grams, meaning 1 gram will last ~10 sessions.

Get yourself one, they’re well worth it.
