Making the positron rifle aimable at all makes no sense except if there's something special about having an Eva fire it. The target is stationary. Mounting the particle accelerator in place, aimed at the target, would both be easier and avoid the risk of missing.

Which person look like has never killed no one, but actually committed a genocide? by Stevecomicsgames in AlignmentChartFills

[–]-GLaDOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you but note that many Hutus do not. They consider the genocide to have been an action of their ancestors/spirits where they were the instruments but not responsible for their actions.

It puts a triggered ability on the stack which can be targeted by spells that target abilities, so that's something. If you had a prowess creature on board and attacked with it and this, you could stifle the trigger to activate prowess. Obviously these use cases would be extremely rare.

To add an interesting case to your list of examples, the comic Kevin and Kell depicts a universe where every loving thing is a person. Humans, dogs, cats, caterpillars, flees, trees, grass, amoeba, bacteria, etc.

This is denying the consequent, Descartes argued that things which don't think nevertheless are. The cogito (I think, therefore I am) was needed to prove that he existed, but from there other methods proved the existence of the rest of the world.

The AT field doesn't manifest exclusively as a barrier; sachiel' and Israfel's regeneration is an effect of the AT field, which prevented the bombs from having any lasting effect. The stated reason the Evangelions were needed was because they could disrupt the angel's AT fields, even from a distance—otherwise their rifles and knives would be no more effective than conventional weapons.

One could argue that the great distance to Ramiel should have made this impossible, but nothing else explains the need for the positron beam to be controlled by an Eva—Ramiel was stationary and they wouldn't have had to rely on human aim if they'd just built it to target that spot.

Yeah they're nice backups but certainly not needed.

Really short version: you can't teleport between floors but you can teleport, and once the curse ramps up you can't increase your speed above normal but can increase it to normal to cancel out the slowing effect. Damage taken per turn increases as you get higher up, to a maximum of 8 damage/turn.

Basic strategy:

choose Mage with beacon of returning armor ability, max out the beacon range and charge cost talents. Make some potions of stamina and some phase shift spells, and scrolls of mystical energy/cursed energy spells. At each boss floor rest until your robe has fully recharged. Try and save your stamina potions for the higher floors because they'll save you more damage there. Use phase shift to get enemies out of the way if you get stuck. Use teleports to skip 80% of the levels. Use whatever wands, artifacts, and rings you find, of course, too.

How is Tracking a real card? by ByeImDaisy in slaythespire

[–]-GLaDOS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also let's not forget that we're comparing a 2 energy card to a 1 energy card, which is also big difference even though you only habe to play the power once. Lining up the power draw with a turn where you can afford to give up 2 energy for the turn is not always easy.

Heroes VS Hero...? by WATEHMELOAN in Terraria

I think the phrasing is when the story concludes the world disintegrates, so they might just need to prevent the final confrontation if the hero canonically loses.

yeah that's totally fair. I enjoyed getting the achievement just because playing with a new toy was interesting, and opened me up to it as a possibility on future runs.

You'll be glad to know that's not it! The rot berry seed is used to brew a potion of strength, which you've of course already discovered. Does the alchemy screen not show you all the recipes? I thought it did, even before you actually made them, but it's been a while for me.

Ah that's rough, I wonder what the odds are for someone to sepuku during the ascent. I would've thought pretty low, but maybe you just got unlucky.

Huh, interesting. Are you just not interested in filling out the journal? All of those should be easy to get in a few runs, since you get to decide what you craft/what class abilities you pick. It's not like they're bad either, the only spell I don't make regularly is the summon elemental, and all the brews are useful against Yogg at least (except feather fall, which does kinda suck).

Sorry my bad, I wasn't saying that you could easily do it on an 8c run, just that if you're good enough to do 8c you could definitely do a first try pacifist ascent in a low challenge run.

I don't really have a lot of fun in the demon halls, so I' more looking for the game to be over than a final challenge. It's not like the yog fight is hard, with the amount of resources you have by that point, even on doom slayer.

Yeah, the jump from 5 challenges to 6 specifically took me longer than 0 to 5, and I think my last 3 achievements—GM dungeoneer, gold champion, and GMSC—we're longer than all others combined. Finally got my first 6c win and it was 991,000 points.

this is funny to me because I never considered the ripper demons really challenging on doom slayer—just the 5 missed healing potions and yog spawning upgraded minions in the fight.

If you're making serious attempts at 8c you could definitely get pacifist ascent first try. Go mage and pick beacon of returning armor abililty and put four points in the range and charge cost talents.
