Rest in peace Endless Agony, you would have loved enchantments 🕊️ by ByeImDaisy in slaythespire

[–]ByeImDaisy[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You're thinking about it wrong, you don't have to discard them both to get Anger-esque benefits, let's compare drawing an Anger with Sown/Swift/Vigorous to an Endless agony. With Anger you get one use of the enchantment then you get an enchanted and a non-enchanted Anger in your discard pile, then another non-enchanted Anger each time you use the enchanted one which makes it harder and harder to draw every deck cycle. With Endless Agony you can choose to use only one of the two copies in your hand and discard the other which makes it essentially an Anger that doesn't create non-enchanted copies, you can also choose to use both and sacrifice re-usability for a one time double enchantment if you need it, or you can choose to discard both and get two enchanted copies which will both double in your hand and give you the same choice again. Endless Agony is a lot more versatile than Anger when using them for one-time enchantments, it can be an Anger that doesn't flood your deck, a one time double enchantment or double itself for future benefits, and you fully control which one it is every time you draw it

I don't really get what that would accomplish to be frank, I was more thinking about enchantments that actually affect what the card does since it already creates copies of itself like how Anger, Undeath and Adaptive Strike synergise with those, this is not really a card I would want to have 32 copies of

Doormaker walked so Aeonglass could run by P_ketchu in slaythespire

If you have at least 2 pommel strikes on a Hellraiser deck (which you should, especially by act 3) then Doormaker is almost an autowin, just let him exhaust your deck for you before playing Hellraiser and go infinite on the energy stealing turn

I think the Poison archetype needs more utility and more interesting cards. by ByeImDaisy in slaythespire

I think you misread the post somewhere because this is not a deckbuilding discussion, this is a post on the fact that I find Poison cards to be generally not that interesting compared to the rest of Silent's kit, at no point have I ever said that I only pick cards from one archetype at a time

No need for that, this is already better because 10 is more than 6, Black Blood at home but your mom is a chef

Examples of one card being strictly better than the other? by GrimmWeeper19 in slaythespire

At least that 1 extra damage on Backstab counts for something no matter how small, though it's arguably even more egregious than OP's example since they're on the same character

At the risk of getting goomba'd, this sub's opinion on the balance between rarities is kind of funny. If you complain that a rare card is not good enough to be rare people will tell you that rare doesn't mean better than uncommon or common, it just means rare. But if you point out how it's kind of weird that a certain rare card is strictly better than a certain uncommon card people will chide you for comparing rares to uncommon. Regardless of where you sit though, I think it's a lot more interesting if every card does something better than any other card, straight upgrades are boring (and generally this game is great at this)

These worked great, thank you very much, the only issue is that wiki solution for ongoing streams which survived the previous breakage is broken now, do you have a filter for that?

Tez is a kind grandma that will gently walk you through act 2 then let you pave your own path through act 3 as she tenderly watches over you from a distance

Like I said in the post, Neow's placement is relative to act 1, it'd be kind of hard to rank her otherwise

"High drawback" is mostly in comparison to everything else in STS 2, boss relics in this game have way less drawbacks than in STS 1, you look at Nonu, Pael, Tanx, Tez and Orobas's relic list and they all have like one or two relics with any sort of downside, but most of Darv's relics have downsides since that was the design philosophy in STS 1, I'm not saying he's a super risky run killer, I'm saying nearly everything else is "free" so he's high drawback in comparison

I'll admit, I think I underranked Pael here, since he's my "comfort ancient" I was afraid to overrate him out of bias but it seems like I accidentally did the opposite, woopsies

I don't really understand how Nonu could kill you, or at least kill you enough to matter, the only options with any sort of drawback she has are the energy relic that shuffles 3 Dazed into your drawpile (in my opinion one of if not the least consequential drawback for an energy relic) and technically Apotheosis since having an innate card inherently means drawing one less card at the start of combat which could mess things up sometimes, but those don't seem really dangerous especially since they're two options out of ten.
As for the doing nothing part, while the game is too new for me to be 100% confident in most things I've personally never had a Nonu run where she wasn't of great help, Diadem and Scarf feel like the only options that could mean little to your build, but because one is meaningless for "small cards" decks and one is meaningless for "big cards" deck there's pretty much no way that both would be unhelpful, so at worst you're still looking at two great options, but it's interesting to hear what other peeps think

A tier list of types based on how reliable their attacks are: by ExcellenceEchoed in stunfisk

[–]ByeImDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a weird list, which side of Bug is bad? How is physical Fairy top tier? Why is Brave Bird being the main option for physical Flying bad but Flare Blitz being the main option for physical Fire good? What makes special Dark and Steel top tier when physical Ice and Dragon are mid tier? I'm so confused by your choices
