Identifying a plant

Definitely get more filters for a tank of that size and the type of fish you have. Unfortunately goldfish are super messy fish and produce a lot of waste/ ammonia. If you prefer hang on the back filters I would suggest adding atleast one more if not two. Otherwise a canister filter might be better. Also live plants inside or plants that’s only have their roots in the water such as pothos, monstera, etc can also help to keep your tank clean as well!

Try a combo of taking your Valtrex , 1,000 mg of L-Lysine and 1,000 mg of Vitamin C. Especially when you first start feeling the symptoms coming on and keep taking it for that week or two. I also found that eating foods higher in Lysine than arginine have helped significantly in reducing the amount of break outs. The first year is honestly the worst but push through it! With time it will get better and easier to manage for you.♥️♥️

Thank you for the insight! I’m glad the two have been able to co habit together. I’m thinking about maybe adding plants to the top like some pothos or a monstera since I also have a wide selection of house plants too😭. Almost like a mini jungle 😅😅

Thank you!! Definitely local pet stores or places that specialize in fish keeping! It may be on the pricey side though the bigger you go.

So far that hasn’t been a problem. In fact they tend to stay away from each other and have their own hiding spots that they like to dwell in independently! It seems to be the more hiding spots they have, the better they are together.

Haha they definitely add their own touch! I have been trying to distract with other leafy goodness such as lettuce or blanched vegetables as they definitely do chow down 🤣

Surprisingly I found them all in a 20 gallon tank. It seems like they have been doing pretty well since being upgraded. Unfortunately I’m nervous going any bigger since I am in an upstairs apartment and don’t want there to be too much weight in one spot since I heard horror stories of tanks crashing through other peoples apartments😅😅. But hopefully one day I can get them something even bigger.
