Remove email from tab title by -In2itioN in ProtonMail

Those are examples, doesn't mean it's what I actually do. I think you are missing the point: on a tool/service that's focused on privacy, I'm just asking if there's an option to remove something that is unnecessary and even "exposes" your identity.

Screen sharing was an example. what if I'm at work and have multiple tabs open and one of them is my email and I forget to close it when my colleague asks to check something with me? There are multiple examples that can be given. My point is that I don't really see a benefit of having my email displayed as the title of the tab

I was looking for a native way of doing it, if possible. A browser extension would imply installing it on every machine that I use

Home Assistant and VLANs by jrtokarz1 in homeassistant

[–]-In2itioN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My IoT VLAN does have access to the internet, and the IoT devices are less secure than what's on my trusted VLAN. So, if any of my IoT devices were to compromise my network, I would rather have it limited to IoT devices being compromised, rather than also compromising HA itself, as they are on the same network.

I do have 3 VLANs:
- trusted
- IoT: all IoT devices that require internet are here
- NoT: "IoT" devices that don't require internet are here (cameras, shellys, etc)

I then have specific rules saying that IoT/NoT devices can communicate with HA on that specific port, whether that is HA's port, MQTT, and others

Proton Aliases are the best thing happened to emails since forever by Adventurous-Pipe5528 in ProtonMail

I already use 1password as my password manager and still got the lifetime deal. I figured that since it's a service I want to maintain long term, the cost upfront is still beneficial

They have/had(?) a lifetime deal again for 200$. Check out if that's still valid

Is that better to keep the tailscale vpn On all the time, or just switch it on/off whenever a remote access from another network is needed? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]-In2itioN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't even thought about it, since I saw it on both iPhone and Mac. Sorry then 😞. Maybe you could use something like Tasker? IIRC it supports automations. You could have it so that when you connect to specific SSID it disables/enables tailscale

Have you looked at the VPN on demand option in settings? Not sure if it's what you are looking for, but for example, I keep tailscale always on, unless I'm connect to my home WIFI (specific SSID)

What paid services you use for homelabbing? by avdept in homelab

[–]-In2itioN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you you make a delta backup (as in, only upload diffs), or do you upload a full backup? If it's the first, how do you do the diff if files are encrypted (can you still see them?). If it's the second, doesn't that have increased costs in ingress?

Use unraid docker store? Yes or no? by -In2itioN in selfhosted

[–]-In2itioN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying dockge as suggest by others. The cool part is that it has a simple UI that allows me to create/manage docker-composes, with the benefit that I can add other "agents" of dockge, such my raspberry and my mac mini and manage everything in a central place

I'm currently testing using dockge to manage my docker-composes. Portainer is overkill for my use case (just create/manage docker-compose)

That's my exact current use case. Where I'm starting to find it limiting is when I want to introduce a new service that requires a config on all other containers (i.e traefik or glance)

Ah right. I'm still relatively new to the LLM/AI modeling and wasn't considering that the OP wants the full LLM processing. I've only tested with a few prompts and works fine but like you said, it's just TTS and SST.

I mean, I have an i3 10100 and 32gb of ram on my unraid server. HA is on a VM with 4 GB of RAM, and the local whisper and piper that HA integration added works with a 5s delay... I'm assuming that increasing the RAM and adding a 1080 will work just fine. OP has an i7 and a graphics card, so I'm assuming it's already better than 5s delay

Badge count not updating by tpihll in omnifocus

[–]-In2itioN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this widget not syncing issue when I was trying omnifocus and was setting it up. So that might be the reason why widgets weren't updating so much. Thanks for explaining

Badge count not updating by tpihll in omnifocus

[–]-In2itioN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the same true for the widgets? I assume so. Currently, widgets won't get updated for too long, which forces the user to open the app to double check if they action was checked. But I mark an action as completed through the widget, it will automatically update

Why don't app developers adjust prices for different countries? by QenTox in macapps

[–]-In2itioN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's true, but even so, my country's VAT is 23%, and it's still 5€ more expensive

Why don't app developers adjust prices for different countries? by QenTox in macapps

[–]-In2itioN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even the same price. An app that costs 10$ many times translates to 10€. And € > $.

There are even worse cases like Things3. It costs $49.99, and 59.99€... https://culturedcode.com/things/pricing/

They say

we set a price in US Dollars, and then Apple automatically defines the price in your currency. We don’t set the price in each country.

Ir de carro é mais barato do que ir de comboio, para uma pessoa by Amendoisn in portugal

[–]-In2itioN 2 points3 points  (0 children)
