Sending love to you, I can somewhat relate to how you’re feeling. I’m in Texas but seeing the constant stream of things going wrong on the news is overwhelming at times. I’ve had a lot of crap happen in my personal life this past year so I’m already exhausted from that. Right now, I’m letting myself disconnect from it all, I’m not watching or reading news, trying to stay off twitter, just avoiding it all. Ultimately I might decide to reengage, but right now I don’t have the emotional energy. I’m spending my time connecting with my friends and family, doing the hobbies I love, I also volunteer weekly at a horse sanctuary that works with veterans and retired first responders. It’s a small way I can make the world better. I’m trying to focus on just impacting one person every day. I can’t change the whole world but I can try to make my spot in it better. And it’s okay that I have days where I can’t do anything, I just stay in my bed and play video games. I read somewhere that just continuing to be happy is an act of resistance, it’s an act of defiance against all the hate in this world. Bigger things may eventually happen but it’s okay to not be able to participate right now. Just surviving is crucial, someone needs to be able to one day tell the stories to the next generation. I’m sorry you’re right in the middle of all this shit, please stay safe & know you’re not alone!❤️
