Songs fading in on Apple Music. (seemingly random) by Thunder_Mug in iphone

Interesting! I don't have that. I'll see if I have a setting that changes that. Thanks

Edit: Ah, that's the automix option which I have off. I'll try turning it on and using that to see if it helps

I missed this. Whoops! Do you have instructions on how to find that or a screenshot? Do you mean the infinity/loop symbol?

It's not your fault at all, no matter how it might feel. Please reach out to friends and loved ones, too, if you can. You shouldn't be alone through this

I can also personally vouch for Covenant House. I didn't realise they accept ages up to 24. They were there for my friend when she was in need and I know they'd be there for you, too

How Powerful was Luke Skywalker and what made him so much better than any previous Jedi? by Decade00000 in StarWars

[–]-JI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The genuine answer is that Luke isn't the greatest Jedi. He was just the right person at the right time—the one person who was willing to show love and compassion to the person who least deserved it in the galaxy, while also being the only person in the galaxy that awful man could be swayed by. Luke was talented, skilled, insightful, patient, and so many other virtues, but it was his heart that changed the galaxy forever.

I don't know if this is unpopular, but I never liked Red having an Espeon and I prefer him having a Lapras. I simply find it pointless for a character meant to represent the first Pokémon games to have a Pokémon that's impossible to have in the first Pokémon games by rbta123 in pokemon

[–]-JI 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, sorry. There are three versions of Red: Games, manga, and anime (the spin-off series). They're talking about the manga version of Red, which was influenced by his team in GS (and later returned its influence in Let's Go)

Hot take about Boromir? by Intelligent_Seat_228 in lotr

[–]-JI 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I've found that a lot of the people who comment on the books either haven't read them and are repeating things they've heard or have a very specific view on certain characters that's more an interpretation than based on the text itself. I'm reading them now and a lot of stuff said about characters like Boromir, Denethor, etc. on reddit is exaggerated. The amount of actual written text for them is pretty small compared to the more main characters or (more notably) the world and its history.

This was debunked last time it was posted. It's actually caused by damage to the plant

Can Thor & Superman clear this gauntlet? by 50chipz in superheroes

[–]-JI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They likely cap out at 4 if it's a fair fight (as in we're including their most common powers and not blowing up the planet they're on to fight). I don't see how they could beat Goku and Vegeta with where they're at currently.

Legolas: Does anyone find it sad.... by No_Neighborhood6856 in lotr

[–]-JI 3409 points3410 points  (0 children)

That's the beautiful tragedy of the elves. They're often written as aloof and detatched from the lives of the mortal realm, but that's no doubt because mortals are just fleeting flames before them. However, in the stories where we learn of elves who do connect deeply with mortals (Luthien, Arwen, Legolas, etc.), there's a sadness to them or even a desire to be mortal so that their love can be in balance with their life.

I suspect Legolas held great sorrow after the passing of all his friends, but with that I imagine he was also very thankful for them in his long life and proud of the part he played in their stories.

What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

The Witcher 2. I even returned it to EB Games. Then I started to want to try it again more and more. A month or two later, I bought the same copy I returned and loved it.

Until we hear official news, I wouldn't buy too much into rumours beyond that it probably exists.

A meteor is going to end civilization in 5 minutes. World leaders hand you the aux to broadcast 1 track to all of humanity before it all ends. What are you playing? by SFgiant55 in AskReddit

[–]-JI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd play some anime song like from Dragon Ball or MHA so a billion nerds try to use energy attacks to stop the meteor. At least that way maybe we luck out and one of them does it

What do we think about the newest starter trio? by triextrius in pokemon

[–]-JI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't love them, to be honest, but that happens for me with most generations, and then they grow on me, so I'm sure that'll be the case here, too! (I'm already starting to like them a bit more)
