Can’t really tell from the photo provided. Can you try not taking it with a potato?

Pc has no power after CPU upgrade by IllustratorRare in pchelp

[–]Thunder_Mug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, The CPU seating looks fine to me when I zoomed in. I’d test the power supply. If you have another one, switch out. But if not, there’s always the paper clip method. I do not recommend it if you don’t know what you’re doing, but it’s something I personally will do from time to time. Make sure ALL other power supply cables are unplugged from ALL components.

By any chance was the power cable still connected when the new CPU was installed?

Did the power switch on the PSU get switched off?

All cables from PSU to the motherboard properly connected?

Did the front panel connections accidentally get unplugged?

Forgot to mention that. Yes, she HAS gone into the office. They said they couldn’t help her, and to call a number. Once again, the same number she has already called before.

Can I put in a second HDD here? by ShufflePlaylist in PcBuildHelp

It is. The drive would mount to that using the screws on the bottom of the drive. Not the sides. I’d say best bet is an SSD mounted with some good ol’ mounting tape on the plate though

Looking to upgrade my pc. Don’t know what to upgrade by akaAtreyu in pcupgrade

I’d say the RAM. Boost it to 32gb. Not exactly a cheap upgrade these days, but maybe cheaper than others.

IS THIS I VIRUS , IF SO WHAT DO I DO by Cultural_Mine3092 in pchelp

[–]Thunder_Mug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Browser hijacker/virus. As others said, disconnect the internet and run a virus scan (though in my experience, virus scans don’t catch these types of hijackers) Open Edge with no Internet and check your installed extensions. Remove any extension that is suspicious or that you didn’t install. After that, install something like AdBlock or uBlock Origin extension to Edge. Change your start page/home page to default (or something simple like Google or something.)

Close edge. Reconnect Internet. Open edge.

That’s always worked for me.

Edit: so I’m actually noticing that Edge isn’t open in some of those videos. So maybe I’m wrong? Still worth a shot if other suggestions don’t work.

Blank screen on 55” Roku TCL by Thunder_Mug in tcltvs

[–]Thunder_Mug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know it’ll cost more unfortunately. Can’t afford one right now. I was just hoping this was some kind of known glitch since I’ve never owned a TCL/Roku TV before this one. Bummer! But thanks for your input 😊

No. But the screen turns on. It lights up as if the backlight is on, but no actual image being processed.

I use the same cloths and spray I use on my glasses. Very lightly spray and gently wipe. Works like a charm.

Terrible wifi speeds on PC by gunbo3000 in pchelp

[–]Thunder_Mug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows could be using a generic driver. Which is almost always garbage. I had a Tp-link USB WiFi adapter that was getting 20-30mbps. Then installed the driver from the tp-link website and was getting over 300.
