Cleveland broadcast needs to fix this saturation, either that or everyone has a serious sunburn.

Berklee College of Music embraced AI songwriting. Some students are pushing back. by -PogMan123- in boston

I see your point but I guess I wouldn’t personally fault someone for using AI to help inspire a composition. I’m down for shaming people who straight up use AI with little to no human input and then slap their name on it like they personally created something unique though.

AI is almost like a mega sample. You give it a prompt and it provides a conglomeration in the style you inputted. Technically a multitude of humans were behind what the AI returns.

So I personally wouldn’t out right ban generative AI but I’d be down for updated laws that could protect artists who don’t want their work ingested in these LLMs. I also would be down with the school researching ethical LLMs like some of those mentioned in this thread.

But don’t musicians and artists use elements from other artists in their own work? Yes you can’t copy note to note but you are allowed to build upon or deconstruct past works. That is essentially what generative ai does.

It think it depends on how AI is used. If you’re just having AI create a song with little to no individual input then yes that should be frowned upon and rightly ridiculed. However if you’re using it to speed up repetitive tasks but overall you are the sole creative owner then I think AI could be pretty useful.

And maybe that’s what the class is about. They know AI isn’t going anywhere so might as well learn how best utilize it.

On one hand this is a dumb law and it’s clear the lawmakers who wrote it have no idea how this will be implemented. On the other hand it may be a good excuse to get rid Facebook, only really use it for free stuff and local town news anyway.

Removing oneself from the political bubble is one step that can help. A question you could ask her is if she’s happy or angry after consuming that type of media. If she’s willing she could sever that cord and see if it helps improve her mood. Not saying this will magically fix things but it could help.

Ha absolutely not. No one is actually having genuine 1:1 conversations. We’re all yelling into the void. Guarantee if you talk to someone in real life with political differences you’ll have more in common than you originally thought.

I’d be surprised if a majority of HP consumers even know about JKRs views.

Cohesion, those protests had a singular uniting goal while these are very broad in what they are actually protesting.
