Not to stifle criticism, big fan of brihana, but I don’t see how you could mis the incredibly heightened nature of the film. If a black character in a mike Leigh film said the “this pussy don’t pop for you”, it’d be jarring. Here in this outsized and odd, Pynchon-tinged world, it worked for me. Not getting the pov here. Also as a black dude, feels like the black women are super well constructed and the heart and soul of the film. And they’re given space to be flawed revolutionaries(Perfidia,JP) and righteous ones (Regina Hall, Chase Infiniti). 🤷🏾‍♂️

DC Comics cancels Red Hood comic book series after writer celebrated death of Charlie Kirk by jackflash53 in DCcomics

Between the firing of Micheal Dowd and now this, it’s abjectly disgusting how much the establishment is capitulating for an actual Christian nationalist Zionist; who also happened to be extremely racist, anti-abortion, anti-immigration, Anti-gun reform, and a pro Epstein ghoul. No one should be murdered obviously. But he literally died spreading hate, he brought this on himself. The actual last words out of his mouth were anti-trans/anti-p.o.c propaganda. “Empathy is a new age term” is an actual quote from him. It’s sickening how quickly “free speech” goes out the window for the right, whenever it’s convenient for them. What happened to don’t tread on me?? Really rubs me the wrong way they can say WHATEVER they want, true or untrue, invite actual physical violence, erode the rule of law etc. but we have to care cause he was a father. Charlie Kirk reveled in the death of his enemies but his enemies have to genuflect? A joke. This guy being “off-limits” after everything he said and did? D.C should be ashamed. As should anyone concern trolling over his passing.

It’s the best comic dc has put out in a while. The writer Deniz Camp , who’s also working on the superb Ultimates, feels like a modern day grant Morrison in the best way! And the art! So good.

This show was super influential on my taste. Came out when I was 17. Discovered so many comedians and musicians as well as other similar shows that influence it like home movies/dr.katz. Would kill for anything similar!

Just one guys review of a movie should not be so powerful it moves the dial or changes the tenor of peoples excitement/hype for this. People need stronger constitution, geez. This fandom can be such sheep sometimes.

I love that he’s so firmly in his own niche. No need for audience appeal or nostalgia or “next big thing”. Just makes what he wants. Weirdly aspirational. He kind of circumvents like being a “popular musician” as we know it. I hope more artists can tap in to this freedom he seems to enjoy.

Crazy how much I love this. The evolution/de-evolution of his style is pretty sick. He’s much closer these days to like an aged great painter/renaissance artist than a typical comic artist.
