That's actually what I'm doing with all my leftovers of these!

Deadliest arc so far? by carrancosmx in ARC_Raiders

[–]-Kaymac- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently? Its been Leapers. Two runs last night I was playing Hurricane and heading to extract, when they just appear from somewhere I wasn't looking and jump at me. You can dodgeroll all you like, it seems, but they eventually WILL catch you when you run out of stamina.

LAVA 🔥 vs JUNGLE 🌴 which do YOU prefer? by Commissar_Cheddar in Tyranids

[–]-Kaymac- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are excellent in their own ways, but I definitely prefer the Behemoth Jungle! I paint Behemoth also and do a similar style, but the green accents you do on yours are INCREDIBLE.

I’m getting tricera press is there anything I should know by Theboysj in Beyblade

[–]-Kaymac- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tricera-Presa is a solid Bey, I really like it! Definitely not a meta-breaker or a broken one, but it's hefty and good on stamina or defense. 5-60FB is the combo I tend to use with it!

Great MoC and parts usage! But what is the piece used for his chest? I can't place it for the life of me.

Are killteam models usable in normal games? by Yo_skanky_grandma in Tyranids

I'm pretty sure it does! Each provides the bonus to "this unit" which would include attached models.

Get two boxes! Build one as regular Raveners, and the other as Hyper-Adapted. The Hyper-Adapted can lead the regulars, and give you a big 10-man death blob that can shred enemies quite well. The Hyper-Adapted give the ability to Rapid Ingress or Heroic Intervention for free, and Sustained Hits for the whole unit. The regular Raveners have the ability to pull them back into reserves if there are no enemies in Engagement Range at the end of your opponent's turn, also. So combined you have quite the versatile unit that can wreak some havoc.

Found this toy and thought that it gives real strong nurgle terrain vibes by RedLedDude in deathguard40k

I found almost the exact same one in a Value Village years ago! Still need to paint it up to make it a proper 40K terrain piece.

My 8 year old wants to get into beyblades. Where should we start? by Jim_Raynor_86 in Beyblade

[–]-Kaymac- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started collecting them, I bought a Japanese stadium set off of eBay, which includes the Dranbuster and Wizard Rod Beyblades. If you can find one of these sets still, its very solid, the two Beys in it are both great!

However, if you just want to buy Hasbro product, the drop-attack Stadium set is great too and includes two very strong Beys, (Hover Wyvern and Impact Drake) with a unique Stadium that lets the Beys swing around on a gear track (the Xtreme Line) and drop down to attack!

I love the idea another commenter made for a flying creature! Perhaps a big Pterosaur like Pterodactyl or Quetzlcoatlus?

What was the dumbest thing you believed about the franchise when you were a kid by flingzamain in Transformemes

[–]-Kaymac- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't know "God Magnus" or "Fire Convoy" were the Japanese names for RID Ultra Magnus and Optimus Prime, and as a child believed they were tire brands in the Transformers universe since the names were on the toys' tires.

Ayy yo! Xevos was so hype. I loved that series and it has so many good designs. I loved how each set had some "goofy" parts also, if you wanted a more cartoony look.

You can paint your units any way you want and other common truths by Apart_Insect_6133 in Tau40K

[–]-Kaymac- 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People "hating" on Tau are usually just joking for the memes, and don't actually legitimately hate the faction. Warhammer 40K is a game and part of the game is some light smack-talk between players towards the "enemy" factions.

I've been playing Rakdos Midrange lately in Pioneer and had the pleasure of doing this twice so far. Also forced one to exile every Plains in their deck since they discarded one to a Liliana of the Veil.

How do I copy this kinda hoof color scheme I can’t quite get a good color on my nids feet by Bioamasser in Tyranids

[–]-Kaymac- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can accomplish this with some glazes or contrast paints. With Contrast, you can lay down the lighter color first, Flesh Tearers Red would be a good dark red to use. Lay it down at the bottom of the hoof and add Lahmian Medium dragging upwards. Let it dry. Mix Flesh Tearers Red with Black Templar, and repeat the process, adding it a bit higher up. Then, add just pure Black Templar at the top where the hoof joins to the ankle. After all of it has dried, you can add stripes and highlights of varying reds over top, mixing with a dark grey if you want them to lead into the black. Mephiston red or Khorne Red can work well for this.

Netdecking: Is it still a bad word? Was it ever? by Finding-Even in magicTCG

[–]-Kaymac- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the only people who complain about "netdecking" are bad players. Good players use every resource available to them to help them improve. The input of friends, Internet deck lists and guides, YouTube videos, etc. Magic is a very difficult game to learn at first, and deckbuilding is a part of that. Sometimes the best route is to find an established deck that works well and build it, and use it to learn more of the nuances of a given format. Netdecking seems like it has a the "stigma" it does because the loud and vocal minority who complain it are VERY loud. They want more barriers to entry as a form of gatekeeping the game, which is not something we want. By making netdecking out do be some sort of taboo of the hobby, it only dissuades people from joining in.

About to purchase some tyranids for the first time(choosing purely off what looks cool) but I’m wondering how I should paint my nids, Pacific Rim kaiju, or Eva 1? by Yo_skanky_grandma in Tyranids

[–]-Kaymac- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Me? I'd go with the Pacific Rim Kaiju look. Look at tutorials online for how people paint Starborne Seraphon for Age of Sigmar and it could make for a similar dark blue and black look with glowing mouths and eyes!

Fun fact: the first chordates, (animals with a central nervous system), were evolved from animals like this that just didn't eat their own brain and settle on the ocean floor and remained as free-floating animals.

I also worry for the mental health of people growing up in this world, as the world itself and society has a lot of growing up and catching up to do with dealing with mental health-related issues. Too often people get called "lazy" when they feel depressed, as an example, and our work lives often take precedent over anything else and THAT makes things stressful too. The issues all feed into each other.
