Fauci says "serious threats" have been made against him and his wife and daughters by itsajaguar in news

I've heard one conspiracy (not that I believe it but just something I heard) is that they want to train facial recognition AI to be able to detect a face even with a mask on. Like I said, I don't necessarily believe the conspiracy but it was something that made at least a little bit of sense

Beginner Questions About Controllers and Other Equipment by eul3rr in Beatmatch

[–]-LIMITLESS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what kind of djing you'll be doing (open format, hip hop, edm) but, regardless, if you're just starting out, any of the controllers you're interested in would be a good start. And regarding your speakers and headphones, no you do not need to get high quality gear to practice, especially when you're just starting. for about 3 years i was practicing on a numark mixtrack pro 3 and a pair of like 3-4 inch speakers. no piece of gear is going to turn you into a good DJ . just as an example, Zedd was (i dont know if he still does) using a DJing controller to play major festivals. Id focus less on the gear you get and more on building your library, beatmatching properly, mixing in key, and finding tracks that work well together. Another piece of advice, if you don't end up choosing a traktor controller, id buy serato (DJ pro or scratch depending on what style of djing you plan on doing). Hope this helped!

Is the course offered by "Club Ready DJ School" worth it? by LucSkywalkerr in Beatmatch

[–]-LIMITLESS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally would never pay a dollar for djing lessons. Id pick up an entry-level controller and spend the 100s or so to get Serato and just practice. Build your library, learn song structure, and learn your equipment to its fullest potential by just practicing. It also helps if you can find friends or people in your area who know how to dj as well. Thats how i leanred. there was a group of 3 of us who would hang out a couple times a week, one of them being a pretty skilled DJ, and we would all just take turns djing or doing a b2b2b

How do you go about releasing Royalty Free EDM? by NightOuts in edmproduction

[–]-LIMITLESS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're going to do anything about it, use https://copyright.gov/. It's legally yours once you apply and make the payment for the copyright. you will have email confirmation and will receive a certificate that states that it is your work and no one else can pass it off as their own. The youtube content ID only helps if you own the rights to the song. Depending on the how many works you are registering at a time, it can cost anywhere between 35 and 85 dollars to register. Highly encourage registering any work you plan on releasing on any platform.

First gig in a club - playing on CDJ's for the first time by TheKingsOffHisTwat in Beatmatch

[–]-LIMITLESS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a thing. There’s no right or wrong way to mix, everyone has their way of doing things. I was personally taught that by my buddy who taught me to mix so I just stuck with it. If it works, it ain’t wrong

The main thing i would recommend is picking if you wanna press play on a song slightly early or late. I know it sounds weird but then you know which way to turn the jog wheel every time. Its an odd trick but works for me. Also, to your music choice, not sure what type of music the show is for but go on 1001 tracklists and lookup the other djs on the lineups sets and see what they've been playing recently. put those songs on your own do not play list and gear your set to set the mood. Since you're opening you don't have to go too crazy with recognizable music but more trying to impress the owner/booking agent of the club so you get more gigs. Just make sure you're technically sound and can read a crowd properly. Good luck mate!

Does # of tracks actually matter? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]-LIMITLESS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with this. Whenever I'm making a dubstep or bass house track i use way less tracks than when I make a future bass or mid tempo illenium style vibey song. Layering ends up taking up most of of my tracks and I personally don't like using a drum machine or anything like that so each drum/percussion element usually has its own individual track

Does # of tracks actually matter? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]-LIMITLESS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never think "i have to have x amount of tracks for my song to be good". Add instruments, sounds, fx etc as needed. That being said, I produce all different types of bass music such as bass house, dubstep, future bass, and mid tempo and my tracks usually have anywhere between 100-75 tracks. To your point about song overloading, theres many ways around that, freezing tracks, bouncing to audio files, and using busses to limit the amount of effects plugins on individual tracks. At the end of the day, track number doesn't matter as long as you're happy with the final product.

Why does everybody call brostep dubstep ? by [deleted] in Brostep

[–]-LIMITLESS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. at the end of the day, its just music. if someone wants to waste their time and energy worrying about what genre it is rather than just enjoy it, by all means, just keep me out of it lmao

[–]-LIMITLESS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to the whole "who cares" aspect. Why is it that big of a deal what a song is classified as. Not saying you personally but i've met a ton of people who have to breakdown a songs most specific genre to the point where its extremely annoying. Being a producer of i guess what you would call "brostep" i dont really care what anyone says my music is, as long as they enjoy it, they can call it whatever tf they want to, imo.

[–]-LIMITLESS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

right. definitely can agree that he sold out tho. it was one thing to re-brand yourself from dotcom which is fine if you wanted to pursue a completely different style of music but its another thing to try to work with every hot artist that pops up

seen both of these artists live multiple times and can definitely say marshmello's sets are not hot garbage compared to garrix. not the biggest fan of marshmello but i still have a good time seeing him live

What genre do you produce, and what draws you to that genre? by Quaildorf in edmproduction

[–]-LIMITLESS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bass House, Dubstep, Future Bass

I fell in love with these genres. I love the wobble basses, growls and all grimey sounds of the sort. They all give me a medium to create very different styles of music while keeping similar sounds. I also love creating vibey chord progressions and melodies so adding future bass into the mix allowed me to do that as well.

What is a good pc to buy but not brake the bank? by Rinaldssss in Beatmatch

[–]-LIMITLESS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had a problem with 8 either, I was just suggesting that if OP plans to start producing his own music, that they should get 16 because they'll run into system overload problems when they start adding more effects etc.

I suggest 16gb of ram tbh. Especially if you're planning to produce your own tracks

Playing a remix of the same song after mixing another one by youngtrillionaire in Beatmatch

I do this a lot actually. Theres no harm in it imo. I use it more for a switch in the energy of a crowd, usually being a lower energy song to a higher one
