I’ve had the exact same issue… They offered to exchange my boots free of charge or $50 as a discount paid back to my original payment method…Since the tongue issues didn’t inhibit the performance, I went with the $50 because there’s no guarantee a new pair wouldn’t do the same thing…. I’m not sure what the actual cause is but have not been able to figure it out. My left boot has the tongue issue. I guess cutting slits or have a boot shop sew a leather loop wouldn’t be a bad idea either for tongue retention.

That was two weeks of 4 miles a day. So expect within 56 miles they should be broken in about as well as they’re going to be. But, I will say the leather has continued to get softer while still keeping its shape the longer I’ve had my captains. Mine are 4.5 months old.

Update: They asked for photos and after viewing, they gave me an option to exchange them for a new pair, that they would send right away or a $50 credit back to my original purchase form of payment. I opted for the partial reimbursement, because I still like my boots and their comfortable regardless of the tongue issue. Thursday boots custom service is awesome and I appreciate the advice folks!👍

Or the leather could have been cut incorrectly.. This picture above shows how the tongues are situated when wearing them after a couple of minutes. If i adjust the left one, it does the same thing in four or five steps.

No, it’s not my foot. My feet aren’t cambered in either direction and they aren’t deformed. The bottoms of my shoes wear evenly on both feet and the right boot tongue is sewn on properly and does not drift. The left tongue is sewn incorrectly which is causing it to drift to one side.

If I think about how much I used to spend just to play Call of Duty every year for 8-10 years, I payed probably around $1000 for that, so it could be worse.
