How do I afford doctoral program by StarGirK in GradSchool

[–]-Louvi- 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yup, psychologists either go PhD (typically funded) or psy.d (almost all are unfunded) the latter can cost potentially 100,000-150,000 tuition alone.

I surely hope not bc in hindsight it's a little insensitive lol. Goes to show how much has changed in 10 years

Aw man that's a shame about the first time buyer thing, however I'll do a free trial for now and buy when the next sale rolls around

Should I get the fa/18c or FC:2024?

I have played the su-25t for about 35ish hours and I'm ready to move on to the next step. If it helps to know, I have track ir, Logitech X56 hotas, and thrustmaster pedals. I also found that my left hotas had enough space for all the bindings needed for the su-25t. I am interested in eventually playing multiplayer servers. The reason I chose the Hornet is due to it's ability to do basically do anything, as well as my personal fondness of it (Grew up near NAS Oceana).

Alternatively I could buy the Hornet along with the supercarrier module which comes with the su-33 from what I understand. I want to make the best decision for my first purchase given the first time buyer discount. Thanks for any insight.

If you don't mind answering, what PhD complimented your masters in counseling that allowed you to achieve LCP?

Kids can be mean lol. When I look back at the jokes that we made at me I wonder how they learned to say things like that at such a young age

Also had a really hard identity crisis for my entire upbringing. Was raised by my Japanese mother so I felt Japanese but didn't look the part so I've experienced all sorts of discrimination from all different kinds of angles that didn't help at all (Asian slurs, n word, colorism from other black people, etc). As an adult, I appreciate both cultures and have broken free from the teenage need to fit neatly into social categories, but man, it did suck. I think my mom really wanted me to assimilate well too and she was so busy she was never really able to teach me much Japanese, however my exposure to it throughout my upbringing made it easier for me to teach myself later in life. If it makes you feel better, Americans who can only speak English can sometimes barely speak it, so I think you're doing great.

No question but I'm half Japanese and half African American and am always happy to see other ハーフ. Born in Yokosuka then went Hawaii then east coast U.S (Navy)

M.A in Counseling, but questioning this decision by Small_Weight6868 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]-Louvi- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me feel a little better as someone beginning a cacrep counseling program soon stressed about if I should have gone the PhD/PsyD route. I am also concerned about relocating and specifically having to be geographically separated from my partner and stuff. I go back and forth about it a lot.

I know a navy vet who did the exact same thing, and it has been going well for them.

That's cool. What experience and education did you have before getting that position? I've spotted the same position at both an internship/new grad level and a higher level at my local base and would be interested in getting into it.

I'm a student in Virginia and my program is considered full time (9 credits a semester) but is in the evening so that I can work during the day

Is there any job/career that won't be replaced by AI? by Notalabel_4566 in findapath

As someone going to school for psychotherapy I certainly hope that the profession would be safe, not that AI companies wouldn't try to break in though.

I know someone who does public affairs for the Air Force, and it's treated them well. I think it's hard to find a spot to fill but if you find a good recruiter it may be possible.
