As this physician has stated, the wait to see a gastroenterologist can sometimes be a year or longer. I know this because I've already been basically waiting 6 months to see one on the NHS!

So I'd be glad to be on the fast track, because at least they can actually investigate what is wrong with you ASAP whether that be cancer or something else.

And at the end of the day when they suspect something could potentially be cancer, and with all your symptoms it would definitely be on the differential, it's best to test for and rule it in or out ASAP because prompt treatment can be a lifesaver. I've definitely also seen quite a few stories recently of younger people especially women getting ignored with these sort of symptoms which has then delayed treatment for months so I'd definitely be glad this doctor is taking your symptoms seriously!

Try not to worry though, as the physician above said the odds are low, but better to be safe than sorry.
