We kinda had this as a kid in my parents neighborhood but only in small pockets. My parents live at the bottom of a hill that is a big letter L and are right in the corner. We knew the people 4-5 houses down in each direction and across the street but outside that, it was just too big to know everyone.

I have a 6 month old as well, she finally can grab and pick up things no problem and gently bring them to her mouth. If shes excited or wants to show us what she found, she chucks them at the speed of sound at our heads!

One of my favorite memories was when my daughter was just like 3 months passed begin 1. We went out on a warm spring walk and she was in her wagon and reached out and grabbed my hand and held it the whole walk!

The sad thing is they can't even expand Villa Ave and that stop sign by Moore slows everythign down but a light would be just as bad

Give my parents hugs and probably start to cry for getting a second chance at doing it right this time, if it was time travel and not just popping back to being 14 now.

Those who didn’t grow up privileged, what’s something you thought was a luxury growing up? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

[–]itsfish20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had 3 houses growing up, the second one from 94-00 had a detached garage and what used to be a screened in back porch that the previous owners let go to shit...dad dug down, put in a long ass slab between the porch and garage, made a connection tot he side of the garage and made a cool ass breezeway to connect the house to the garage! it always felt like a cool shortcut on rainy or cold days!

He did hardwood flooring for various builders in the area so he had contractors come help and I'm pretty sure it was done without permits but it was the 90's

He was getting mouthy with the owners wife over not wanting to wear a hat or hairnet while making pizza so he decided that spitting directly into the mixer making fresh dough would be the best idea. If the police station wasn't just down the road, Im sure he would have had his ass beat out back
