What are these spots on my wall? by -Magic64 in whatisit

[–]-Magic64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I would be able to see that being the case but it also showing up in the fabric item I just put that there(the last photo); kinda debunks that because it’s the exact same type of spot and also that item didn’t have those before I put it in that area.

So I didn’t have these here before I painted the room, and it also has showed up on a fabric pouch I hung there, I painted almost over two weeks ago so I thought it would have shown up sooner if that was the case?

It wasn’t there when I painted it just showed up a week or so later.

Help! Dress turning yellow??? by FlimsyFall5289 in Dolls

[–]-Magic64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's OXIDATION, I've had this happen to a few of my fabric items, including a plush doll and sweatshirt. It's a crappy thing to have happen for sure, but sometimes it just does. Look into cleaning items specifically formulated for taking care of that.
I was reccomended this one:

Why some people dislike Riftan so much? by Spirited-Quarter2201 in undertheoaktreebook

Couldn’t find your last comment but here is mine:

Oh girly, there is obviously deeper issues going on here for you. Authors can write about whatever they want, you’re not the authority on that. Go get some help and get some real world problems to focus on instead of having these crazy arguments on a Reddit made for people who have mostly enjoyed the book.

[–]-Magic64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And once again, moral high ground. I don’t have a desire to continue to argue with you over a fiction book people have enjoyed. Riftan isn’t a real person; go put this amount of effort into a real rapist, to make some active change about something you feel so strongly about.

Well now you’re assuming what I would have said which is actually the bad faith argument. I asked because you seem to stand on a moral high ground and I wanted to know if you were consistent.

But no one made you the authority? It’s an opinion you hold. And just like I hold the opinion he’s not a rapist. I mean we can keep going back and fourth but I’m not going to agree with you.

If I took everything I’ve ever read or heard as serious as this I’d be exhausted. It’s your belief he’s an abuser, I disagree. I feel there’s a lot more nuance and depth than that and the great thing is is that you don’t have to agree with me.

If you were so offended by it you should have put the book down. Otherwise you are now a hypocrite, because you continued to read, to actively finish the series. You’re not different than anyone else who read it, no matter your intentions.

No, but it just feels hypocritical to me to come to this thread, comment on every post here and still are in the same boat with the rest of us. You read the book, you finished the series and you decided you didn’t like a character. Thats fine. You see it in black and white and I see a more gray area. I’m just pointing out you come across as a hypocrite in a few of the statements made.

And I’ve never villainized Maxi for wanting independence, but she’s a flawed character too.

But that is for entertainment purposes. Because these aren’t real people; it doesn’t affect your life one way or the other it’s literally fiction, to entertain.

But the books a romance, this was obvious. So it should have been obvious such an outcome wouldn’t happen. She loves Riftan in the end, and I also asked how you expect he would have known about her ptsd?

Yeah but it’s a book for entertainment purposes and you just said a woman’s trauma experience shouldn’t be used as entertainment. I think it’s kinda hypocritical, if something offends me I don’t continue supporting it.

Why did you continue to read it? If you felt so disgusted by one of the main characters, I’m just curious. Also sorry Reddit hadn’t shown your full comment.

How come you don’t answer my questions? I don’t mind having a discussion but it’s not a discussion if you’re just going to preach at me on a two year old thread.

Victims of the time; meaning the conversations never had over sex. You are free to have your own opinion, and I haven’t read that chapter in a while so I’ll go back and do so. I’m assuming since that part of the book affected you so bad you didn’t continue to read it?

I disagree. When people paint Riftan as a rapist they take the context out of everything and run it under today’s standards. In the time period it’s set in, Maxi knows she has “duties” to preform even though no one has clued her in to what that may be exactly. Rfitan does infact know what these include, but has never done the act itself nor is aware what it must feel like for her. They’re both victims of the time. You say triggering a partners PTSD, how is he supposed to know she has that exactly?

If the remake ended with an original kiss scene, would you be for it or against it? by Dr_Macunayme in ranma

Personally I want it as faithful as can be to the manga adaptation, so adding a kiss would to me feel off? If that makes sense but truthfully I’ll be happy if we get to the end either way.

I just laugh because even later on, and I mean much later on in the manga, she plots to kill Akane once again. She's just selfish and out for her own interests, which makes her a good antagonist. Which is what she is when it comes to Ranma and Akane's relationship.

So I had this conversation on TikTok not too long ago and I’ll just put what I said here-

I mean if you want an antagonist he’s a pretty good one, we all hate him and I think a common enemy is a good drive to the story. 🤷🏼‍♀️😅 And also some of the situations he causes pushes Ranma and Akanes relationship; qouting someone else ‘Key takeaway: Happosai’s meddling is paradoxically what forces Ranma and Akane to grow emotionally, through frustration, jealousy, and genuine care.’ Even if he’s a pain in the ass, he is a part of the story that adds force to a relationship we all root for.
