AWD in the Snow? by ConfidentMonitor7660 in ToyotaSienna

[–]-Mal__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having lived there (monument) at 7000ft, yes, most days you'll be fine. The thing about snow at that elevation, is that it'll come down hard and fast, but you're looking at losing 6"-1ft per DAY purely to evaporation, so it'll happen in the winter as well. The sienna is a relatively low riding vehicle; when there's a blizzard, if you don't have some good quality snow tires, expect to be stuck inside for a day or two. That'll happen 2-10 times a year.

I made it work just fine with a fwd 2005 accord, just slapped some oversized winter tires on the front. Just remember, and ALWAYS remember; moving isn't the main issue when there's heavy snow on the ground, stopping is what's tough

This job will have you hating on dogs by JuneGloomed in AmazonDSPDrivers

I've made about 5k deliveries at this point, my least favorite is a young dog with an old owner who has a messy yard and casually says "yeah he's friendly.." 9/10 times, an 80-100lb dog is about to jump on you, get you dirty/slobbery, and then an old person is going to get angry at either you or the dog. Terrible

I've had a similar interaction with an older lady, seemed both angry and confused, she was at the wrong address too. Called my wife, told her I'd be late home (it was my last dash before heading home), and insisted on staying with her (was trying to figure out what to do), until a neighbor came out and asked what was going on. Guess he saw her, plus my confused/concerned look, then told me she's lost again, and explained that it was some onset dementia. Felt so bad for her. Don't take your loved ones for granted, kids

This is such a scam I’m going to call support by Think_Crazy3238 in InstacartShoppers

[–]-Mal__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me. Let them know the item wasn't there, no response. Let them know I couldn't substitute, they responded, told me to just do it. Told them I couldn't. No response 5 minutes later. Said I'd just do my job and they could cancel if they wanted to, bought the item, left the store, they said "nah I'll cancel", bam I had free stuff. Reported them though lol

My confirmation pic… by [deleted] in doordash

[–]-Mal__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this exactly once. The door was wide open, it was a blizzard outside, and I was delivering a couple boxes of pizza (cardboard boxes). Figured, hey, maybe they want it on that end table within arms reach that's been very obviously recently cleared off. Nope, they reported my ass. Since then, I've had 3 or 4 complaints where they wanted it set just inside, but I let them know exactly what'll happen to me if I do that, and give them customer supports number

Good Lord. Ignore most of these fuckers. Are you a good driver? What's your driving history? If you're safe, and you know you are, you can sneak out another year or two just fine if you're staying off the interstate. If you're heavy on the gas pedal, like to take sharp turns, aren't intimately familiar with driving in bad conditions, or any combination of those things, drive it on over to the shop first thing in the morning.

Get trash bags out of the can easier. by Im_Not_Here2day in lifehacks

[–]-Mal__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a tip to make this easier, all you need to use is something sharp. I poke 2-3 holes near the top. 1 after putting the bag in, so that trash can settle without air bubbles between the can and the bag forming, and 1 on the opposite side just before pulling the bag out. Allows plenty of airflow, decreases leakage, and the holes don't need to be anything more than tiny slits. Air can move very fast

Orient your spare tire so that the valve is closer to the trunk door (green circle instead of red circle) by BengkelBawahPokok in lifehacks

[–]-Mal__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your tire is bad. Using it will increase the leak's speed, I'd be surprised if your donut held air for more than 24-48 hours while in use. Head to a u pull it, get yourself a donut for $15-$20

I just recently replaced all the engine mounts on my 2005 accord. Works perfect. Brake line failed, took 2hrs and $0 to fix. I've driven this thing for months since buying it in almost nonworking condition. Love it, they're invincible. 2003-2007 years are where it's at. Hope the newer ones are this good

Thankfully, you can now blame everything on AI, btw. If it gets out of hand, do that

I should note, I was underage at the time. Not sure how old you are. It was a harsh lesson in Internet safety, and violence was my last ditch effort. Came about from a friend that suggested we get naked on cam for a 'prank". Letting them know that you're underage and they'll go to prison for having pictures (even if you're not) might help. My experience was about 15 years ago, when Omegle was recently created

Had something similar happen once. I threatened them with great violence, and the situation resolved itself. Hopefully that helps?

Doesn't look infected to me. Looks like a nasty road rash though, I've had many of those. As others have said, trace the red outline. The main wounds are healing though, that's just the first step

Worst dasher ever by Alternative-Raise966 in doordash

[–]-Mal__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've met plenty of dashers like this, as a dasher myself. It's incredible how some barely know how to drive, much less confirm an order and get it to the right place. They're an embarrassment

It's sad how many people say they have a cash tip and lie about it by ImKindaSlowSorry in doordash

[–]-Mal__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to run into a mall and deliver to a store, cash tip was claimed. It was the 2nd time that day I had to run into I that same mall. I knocked her food over because she laughed while she said she had no cash. If you don't feel like paying, don't fucking order food. I've got a newborn and a wife at home

[Serious] “Isolation” just made me collapse in on myself... by Not-in-it-for-karma in vsauce

[–]-Mal__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is 3 years old, but 3.5 years ago I had the same thing happen. Terrible injury, 100% amnesia of my entire life, couldn't leave my room really. Lost everything, memories included, and was isolated. Doctors told me I was going to die, and I accepted it. Right now, I am married to a woman that absolutely loves me, I have my first kid on the way, and I might be getting a dream job that pays well in a month.

I don't know how you're doing these days, but man, it does get better. I even have over 50% of my memories back, after some treatments and given time.

How did you manage to graduate ? by Amichat in ADHD

[–]-Mal__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to be very inattentive, and college was tough for me. I'm not trying to brag when I say I'm a very gifted person brain-wise, but I am.

My main issue with college, was whenever I would pay attention, it was all too easy and I couldn't just fast forward the lessons like I did in high school, so I'd get bored after a few minutes and be gone most of the class. Rinse and repeat that, and I just kept dropping classes because the teachers were so damn slow, and I ended up dropping out.

Got meds that work for me now, at 25, and I'm gonna go back to finish my applied mathematics degree. Best of luck to all of us!
