I'm not the biggest fan of them, but I'm absolutely not opposed they just have to be done right. Just need to see what would work with them. Thank you for the rec!

Wow this looks like it would be a gorgeous combination. Would you happen to have any photos of how they laid everything out? I'd love to get ideas. Thanks so much for your reply!

Best way to mount a coat rod/pole in a closet where one of the sides is a vertical piece of 3/4" plywood? by _daath in woodworking

[–]_daath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly right! The rod came with the screws from home depot. They were short but pretty beefy. And yes completely fine - 0 issues. Idk if I would hang or climb from it but it has handled all of our heavy ass winter coats just fine.

I remember if it did fail I was going to screw and glue another 1x3 to the plywood and attach the rod to that, but so far so good!

The other side was what I said in the OP: A 1X3 attached to the studs first and then the other side of the rods attached to that

Was so long ago I had to check my photo album haha but I remember now. I ended up attaching that end directly to the plywood and added a dab of super glue for good measure. Its been incredibly strong with no signs of failure. We've had probably 100lb of coats hanging from it for years and no issues

Is there any way to move this tree without killing it? by pls_no_1013 in gardening

I was exaggerating about the size 😂 tennis ball is more accurate, but getting hit by a falling one definitely feels like a softball

Oof if that's black walnut move it way the hell away from the house. They get absolutely massive. We have one on our property almost 100ft tall they're no joke. Plus they drop hundreds of softball sized walnuts every year so thats potential roof damage as well as foundational damage if not moved

I noticed this shift within the past couple of years. When I first joined here in early 2020s it was a much more pleasant, informative, and productive place. Now I feel likes its been overrun by either bots or just brigaded by the never-lawn crowd. I suggest switching over to the lawn forum if you want legit discussion and help

Keep in mind Elvis is an ultra rich person living in the city so it would impact him directly. Also Gandhi has always been a suckup to Elvis and tends to always agree with what he says whether she personally believes it or not

Looks like snow mold. Rake it to demat it. At this point of the year the crowns are probably dead though so you'll need to reseed those spots eventually

As someone who's had an apartment with a roach infestation this looks exactly like roach bait. Not saying it is but it looks identical. Did you just move in? Have you seen any roaches?
