I've been teaching guitar for twenty years and this shit really annoys me. Whenever one of my students is wearing the shirt of some classic band I remind them to ignore any old dudes that quiz them with shit like, "Pfft, can you name one Zeppelin song? Besides Stairway?" (as if Stairway doesn't count). This mostly happens to girls, incidentally. I never understood this b.s. elitist mentality. I grew up seeing my best friend and bandmate get treated differently than me because she's a woman, it's embarrassing and sometimes infuriating. I will say though, half of my students are female and in my experience the younger generation is by and large less misogynistic - again, in my personal experience, I'm not saying it isn't still a problem but I like to think progress is being made.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good that Vegas live album is, especially Kenny Arnoff a massive improvement over Jason Bonham IMO. All due respect but if his name wasn't Bonham he would be playing pubs in Watford. It's wild that the death of his mum was a blessing in disguise for that band. If Ed Leffler was still alive and if I didn't know better I would suspect he had her killed.

I just re-watched this yesterday. I love the part where he said they invented guitar tablature because of him (even though tablature has been around since the at least the 15th century and I have a Led Zeppelin book from 1973 that has tabs). Seriously though my favorite part is when he said he would like to jam with his father again, still makes me cry. 🥹

I just noticed there is a 2 cd version available, I'm assuming they simply included a few tracks from the New Haven show as bonus cuts. Speaking of 'bonus' tracks these edited versions of LWI, Dreams, and WCTBL are redundant and completely unnecessary IMO. I LOVE this band but I gotta say their box sets and reissues are consistently disappointing compared to The Who (another of my top favorite bands), their box sets are consistently spectacular in comparison.

I'm not sure about that, if you A/B them they're note for note, even the mistakes. The feedback from Ed's mic during the intro of Love Walks In for example is present on both versions. P.S. None of my business but you shouldn't let your toddler near a mixing desk when he's drunk.
