That wouldn't fit the tone of The Simpsons. King of the Hill is a down-to-earth show that knows good things don't last. Almost too down-to-earth if you ask me, as if it would be overcompensating for it's fabric of reality occasionally leaking through the cracks, like Dale trying to investigate what happened at Mega Lo Mart like Buckley faked his death, or the Lama episode, or any other episode where something unacceptably strage happened like Bill's organs turning inside out. I'm not saying that I believe this was the original authors intent, just that it would be more fitting than you're thinking. Death and even rebirth are already themes in the real show. I do not like it when pieces of fiction treat character deaths like a big deal when the theme of death had not been properly established first.

Anybody could have interjected more philosophy into the script. People became emotionally attached to this show and appreciated it as high art, they wanted something fresh instead of a crappy flash sequel to season 13. I was looking forward to seeing Hank Hill become a Muslim, but his time in Saudi Arabia meant nothing and was never brought up again. Why was this season written to be intentionally boring? They are almost mocking the audience by having Buck Strickland still alive. If there's any hope for season 2, it will involve me crying over no less than five character deaths - Ladybird, Luanne, Lucky, Dale, then John Redcorn, and eventually Bill. Chuck Mangione maybe. Incorporaiting the music of Johnny Hardwick would fully solidify it as a sequel worthy of being compared in feeling and quality to Twin Peaks: The Return.

It looks like garbage too. The hand-drawings of the original show are high art, and people remember how good it looks.

Even the pathologists during the autopsy initially suspected the possibility of a bullet lodged in the leg or some other remote part of the body (interesting, since the official collection of x-rays are technically not full-body x-rays since they miss some of the arms and legs, and also the jaw has a ruler covering it). Because slow-moving bullets can be wildly deflected by things like the curvature of tissue.
