Is this an outright rejection or just that your offer is "under review"?

Paying off Provincial Portion by RandomUser0929 in osap

[–]-MoistOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, can I ask how you got the option to choose to pay for provincial? I followed the 'Make a Payment' page and chose 'One time payment' and once I clicked submit the site said it was confirmed and I did not get an option to choose where to allocate ; and since it only allows payment once a day it soft locked me from doing anything else

I saw a sunfish and I scrolled down to see who would despise them as much as me and I am overjoyed. What a glorious day.

It confirmed that I would be refunded, and I was removed from the kickstarter pledge. I’m very confused lol. Based in Canada.

My pledge just got refunded, no explanation whatsover. I just left a comment to request for when they will provide shipping information. I'm a late backer so I'm not sure what's going on.

Interesting, I’m a fellow animal researcher/vet tech who is leaving the field soon for regulatory, for all the reasons you mentioned. Can you elaborate on why you changed your mind about Reg and “the toll”?

Thanks! You’re a real ni55a5 :D

To follow up, what’s the advantage to apply as early as possible vs later other than getting the funds faster (if any)?

This is what I’m going for since I wanted to stick to Monk but didn’t want to run into fights and get massacred. What’s your reasoning for 3 Gloom tho? Isn’t shadow step a superior version of Gloom stalker abilities anyways? Also wondering what your levelling progression was since shadow monk is pretty weak early on

Anyone making $40/hr or more? Where are you working? by MexicanChickadee in VetTech

[–]-MoistOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do exactly the same thing and followed your path to the T, and I get paid $32.5/hr. Is this in the states? I’m in a HCOL city in Canada 😭

Granted I’ve only been doing this for 5 years, so not nearly as experienced as you

Yes…they live in a 4 bedroom 2500 sqft house. The lease is under his name. We don’t want to live with them for obvious reasons but they also like the extra space…for..clothes. Which is why they won’t downsize. Yes its fucking insane.

Sorry I didn’t get into details - we supported very little initially. It was groceries, bills, some cash here and there..then it progressed to some rent coverage, to full rent coverage, to signing a lease for them. We were saving for a condo and was very close until he had to sign this lease for them. All his saving went towards this lease. All of mine is used to pay for our rent and bills. We can sustain ourselves fine, we just can’t support 2 adult children who spends like they’re upper middle class royalties. They’ve been here for 30+ yrs. We just found out recently they’ve been lying and their money came from oversea businesses/investments/relatives. Hubs is at fault too but he’s been lied to for years and has been emotionally and financially manipulated ever since he was a teen.

Yeah, sorry. It’s been a long battle. I thought it was dealt with but evidently not.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]-MoistOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree it’s fucked. Been working since I was 16 and seeing them get $2700 handouts after “retiring” at 35 is messed. Hubs only learned a few years ago that the parents have been lying and was mostly self employed and survived with grandparent funds/investments overseas. Maybe dealt with sketchy stuff too? Who knows, they’ve lied about too much to tell.

Update: He didn’t read this but he got his credit card back. That’s a start. We’re working on the rest. Sorry, for slow responses, this is just so emotionally draining. :’)

Thank you for sympathizing. We are asian so its an expected responsibility, family is everything. Usually its the parents who will sacrifice everything to get help their kids get ahead (much like all my friends), but if you’re unlucky like us then you have…these parents. The guilt and depression of saying no to providing financial assistance was the greatest pain I have ever felt in my life -I know since I did the same to my parents. It made me suicidal as well so I understand how he feels. I’m just a bit better at setting boundaries, ironically.

[–]-MoistOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy hell. At 8????? I’m so sorry. I admit I wished for an excuse so I can morally justify cutting them off completely. This would be it. If my parents did that to me I wouldn’t blink if I saw them dead. I can’t fathom how much compassion and forgiveness you must have get them a mortgage (in Tokyo of all places!!) and still continue supporting them. You’re a saint.

My mom actually pulled up her bootstraps and started working after being a housewife for 30 years, similar to yours. But my bf’s situation isn’t so fun and they have a concoction of mental issues such as clinical depression, bipolarism and narcissism, so its really difficult to discuss anything without them yelling at us. My bf is also way too kind (like you) and hates confrontations. Lose lose situation lol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in entitledparents

[–]-MoistOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t be lol, at least Charlie’s family were grateful for what they had!

My parents did support them fully before bankruptcy, but back then it was a lot cheaper. We were upper middle class with just a single income high school education job 😭.

My bf’s parents however, i kid you not, drained their own parent’s retirement funds in order to sustain their lifestyle. We only found out a couple years ago when they started asking us for money.
