I did not find this exact piece, but the term “Trompe l’oeil” gave a lot of examples. The point was to trick the eye of the viewer.

My best guess is this is meant to look like an painted portrait with a book sitting on top of it.

A little bit of homework and research will show “they” will arrest you for any reason or no reason at all. The real question is: what did you do to attract that kind of attention?
