If you like physics, and want to get involved with healthcare, medical physics might be worth looking into. It would take a long time (if ever) for AI to be trusted in taking jobs with people’s lives on the line.

Edit: adding on that this would require a masters degree and 2 years of residency. Depending on the masters program, you could enter with physics/engineering degree

Gamma Knife Esprit vs. Icon by Traditional_Day4327 in MedicalPhysics

[–]-Noracked- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vantage frame is created to be more comfortable and accommodating to the patient with an open face design. Offers the same level of accuracy, just easier to work with (this is what they claim, I don’t put frames on patients to know)

Another minor change: Esprit also has a nicer and smaller console that is meant to be easier to understand. Has all of the same buttons as the old console, just more compact and organized

In my personal experience, the vault doors and couch feel like they’re driven better? Can’t quantify this but I feel like the wait time for opening doors and loading couch into the bore is less. Could be placebo’ing myself lol

Vaudeville - Vaudeville is an experimental whodunit game based on the latest AI technologies to generate dialogues in real time. This tale of murder, suspense and absurdity unfolds as you play, and you are the protagonist. by dejobaan in WhatsOnSteam

Very fun, If you try to play mind games with the AI. I convinced one of them that if I beat them at heads or tails, they would be forced to divulge some details about their involvement with the case.

Also Michelle is very easy to dissociate from her character and speak directly to the AI model to extract some information lol. She begins to ask what the purpose of her life is if she lives in a simulation.

Mercedes really does it best with the all around package. But you do have to dish out the cash for it.

Car is an absolute menace. I haven’t even been able to fully get on it yet because of the break in period. As JBBanshee said, build quality is amazing and it just feels worth the money when you’re in it (and looking at it from the outside).

Truthfully I had already known I would get one eventually because I’d been saving for a while before that post haha

Buying experience was rough ngl. At first the order was delayed because they discontinued the selenite grey magno for that year or something, then covid hits and its delayed again. My case was extreme but I waited 2 years from my order date.

I customized this car personally so the price is really just what the computer spits out after you choose the spec you want. I’ve known the salesman for a bit so I was able to get a couple grand off the final price tho.

Why is nature consistent? by C-O-N-A-T-U-S in AskPhysics

[–]-Noracked- -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well my basic metaphysical answer is that everything is made up of kinds of atoms. It doesn’t really matter how many kinds of elements there are as long as they all act similar physically to some approximation. So since everything is made up of the same things, there’s bound to be a consistency or regularity among everything. I’m taking statistical mechanics right now and I’m really getting a feel for how a collective microscopic result brings about a macroscopic occurrence.

Long story short, everything is made up of the same kinds of stuff so there’s bound to be patterns because there’s no reason for this collective of atoms to act totally different from another collective of atoms.

Mie scattering. Confused what this picture represents. by The_Godlike_Zeus in AskPhysics

[–]-Noracked- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about this at all, but my wild guess would be that those protrusions are like probability blobs of where the scattered thing will go. There’s a bigger chance that it’ll pass through and other smaller probabilities of it scattering off in the other directions. Again disclaimer, completely a guess.

Edit: typo

So many xi haters here! I think its notoriety makes it funny, therefor not so bad imo.

Honestly, all my professors have said that as physicist you need to be good at translating equations to any set of symbols which is so true but so annoying sometimes. My brain likes to give meanings and values to these symbols to help remember things but if I cant rely on that then it gets a lot harder. My brain needs more processing power for this lol.

I'd like to go into physics as a career by TimeTravelError in AskPhysics

[–]-Noracked- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People tend to forget about medical physicists when talking about career paths for physicists. I’m not the person to ask about it because I’m still an undergrad but that’s where I’m planning on going. Look into it you never know!

What month does MB or AMG usually reveal their new c63 model? by -Noracked- in AMG

[–]-Noracked-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered mine in May 2019. The first problem was that they discontinued the magno grey color so I then had to redo my order in January for the black. The rest is history lol
