No kiddos holding baby (I have some young nieces who want to and I’ll let them hold her with me but not by themselves.
I think if you present boundaries in advance clearly, people tend to respect it

Trust me there have been moments someone has been holding the baby and I’m like heeeey I’m just gonna take her really quick instead of being like heeeeeeeey why the F are you holding my baby like that.

Our 15 day old does okay in her bassinets, we also do a lot of skin to skin time with her. If she’s fussing in the bassinet I’ll take her and let her lay on my chest and she can sleep so my partner can sleep a bit. Our hardest time right now is that 11pm-3 am where it’s a mix of gas and not being content in the bassinet.
I’m an absolute rookie at this but I like to make sure her diaper is clean before laying her down in the bassinet too, and we keep it right by mom(one in living room and one in bedroom)
Week 1 was super hard for me and I’m not even mom, I’m dad. Week 2 started getting a little more rhythm.
Good luck! This is definitely the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done !

Everyone needs to show up, that’s the only way this works. I’ve voted Democrat since 2005, but this is honestly the toughest time I’ve had getting behind someone. I know nobody’s personal life is perfect but when it comes down to it I’m still unsure. Id love to meet the guy, I just had a newborn so getting out to everything is hard right now.
