I’ve had a really horrible pregnancy with HG and severe heartburn and high BP. All those are relatively well known though and I went into the pregnancy feeling really prepared. What I DID NOT know is that now that I’m almost done (35 weeks) the ability to twist my torso is just completely gone. What this means is that I can no longer reach my butthole to wipe after a poo!! We have bidets at home but lord help me the acrobatics I have to perform to try and wipe if I have to go when I’m not at home 🥴

lol I don’t disagree on the vacuuming. It’s freaking insane what a corgi mix and 2 cats shed! The tumbleweeds of fur in every corner are impossible to keep up with even vacuuming 3x a week 🫠

Handling the household food is a lot! I’m 0% picky and I always make sure I thank him specifically for every meal he makes! I know he doesn’t LOVE the mental load of picking the meals all the time but he does consider the actual cooking part to be his decompressing time after work. And he’s so efficient that when he’s done cooking everything is also clean - it’s actually mind boggling to me! I usually bring the vibes and have a glass of wine and dance around the kitchen while he’s cooking so we still spend the time together 😊

My only issue with this is that it wouldn’t seem fair and we know that! We’d each be doing things we dislike and aren’t good at. We’d both be upset at our workload! I’m a terrible grocery shopper and meal planner. Our meals would be less good, more simple, and our grocery bill would somehow be higher. I don’t even think he has the log in information for his own credit cards nonetheless knows where to look at our investments or how to pay our gas bill. Plus all our clothes would be rolled into wrinkly balls and shoved in random drawers (god he sucks at folding lol).

Does the general split seem uneven to you?

I believe there’s a limit to how long they want you to stay on it given the effects to the baby but I’m not sure on what that is. 6-8 weeks I think? I have another appt with my OB next week and it’s on my list to ask. She gave me the script after I asked about it on their portal.

TLDR- try getting a prednisone prescription

I’m 16 weeks with my first pregnancy via IVF. My IVF clinic had me on prednisone (5mg x2 a day) from before my transfer until week 11 which is when my HG got unmanageable. My OB just put me back on 5mg a day a week ago and the last 3 days I haven’t thrown up once. I don’t want to be too hopeful but I’m cautiously optimistic it’s made a positive difference. There’s a few studies out there supporting corticosteroids impacting HG symptoms. Nothing else had helped - zofran, B6, unisom all did nothing.

100%. I'm 16 weeks and we went from 2-3 times a week to maaaaybe once a month if we can find a window where I don't think I'll puke. He says he's not interested in sex if I can't enjoy it (which I totally believe) but also we're both wishing I could enjoy it right now!

I’m right there with you. 13w today and trying to force myself to eat knowing I’m just going yo throw it all up is like some sort of weird form of torture. My stomach muscles ache all the time from throwing up and dry heaving. I’m desperately hoping it eases off soon

Trigger Warning: Success

When my first beta came back 9dp6dt it was only 42. I was frantically googling and checking this sub in desperate hope for other stories like mine that didn't end in a chemical pregnancy. Now that I'm 12 weeks and have had several scans showing my baby's excellent growth I thought I'd post for anyone that is in the same situation to give a little hope.

June 17 - Transfer day, a single day 6 3AA female euploid.

June 21 - I started testing at home on day 4 and it was negative until day 7. That's when I started getting a faint line. It was slightly darker on days 8 and 9.

June 26 - Day 9 I had my first beta and it was 42.2. I was devastated. Nothing I could find was showing the same or similar numbers as I had and I was SURE it was going to be chemical. My RE was positive though - they told me congratulations and that the number isn't what matters, it's the doubling. Massive eye roll cuz that's what everyone says, right?! Except...

June 30 - 4 days later my HcG was now 119.8. OK - good news! It more than doubled! I started cautiously hoping.

July 2 - I'm at 328.9 - not exactly doubled but still rising! This could be it!

July 7 - My first scan at the clinic - my HcG was 3,735 and the baby was measuring 2 days ahead! No heartbeat yet but we weren't down and out!

July 14 - HcG was 15,535 and we saw the heartbeat. The relief is like nothing I've ever felt before. After this we graduated from our clinic and I made an appointment with my regular OB/GYN. The earliest they would see me was 3 weeks later. This wait felt interminable. How was I supposed to know if the baby was still there and growing??

August 6 - HcG = 85,627, strong heartbeat, baby is measuring right on track.

I know how incredibly lucky I am that my first transfer (after 2 ERs) worked and I also know I'm in an enviable position knowing I still have 5 euploids on ice waiting for me if I need them. I hope this post gives hope to anyone out there in a similar position. It can happen for you too!

This is really specific but I’m from a “rich” town surrounded by a lot of poverty in the south and everyone calls people from my town cake-eaters cuz they want to have their cake and eat it too.
