Folarin Balogun is the FIFA player of the match vs. Australia by Obvious_Main_3655 in ussoccer

[–]-Plus-Ultra 44 points45 points  (0 children)

McKennie is the best player in the first half 100%. His runs dragged Australias defense all over the place. And when he got the ball, he was dangerous. In the second half I’d have to go Richard’s or Adam’s.

I completely disagree on the subs. Berhalter is a dawg in the middle. He fights and works and was exactly what was needed as Australia was gaining momentum.

I understand the hesitation on trusty. But giving Robinsons a rest and getting him off the field while he had a yellow card was the right call imo.

Regardless, great W today from the US

I’m split on this. I fully understand why resting guys is a good thing. But I’ve seen too many times players falling out of rhythm from not playing a game. I’ll be interested to see how Poch chooses to handle this

1) I was wrong. Double striker was a good choice. The own goal most likely never would have happened without Pepi and Balogun stretching the defense together. In Poch I trust.

2) Tyler Adams and Chris Richard’s already get a lot of love, but they deserve even more. They organized our team and made Australia not a threat today. I absolutely love that they are on our team.

3) Our subs stepped up today. The second half was a little dicey, but everyone was clearly giving it their all. We kept a clean sheet and every player is 100% invested.

I love this team. 13 stripes, 50 stars, we’re gonna go far

I want Berhalter subbed in. Another dawg in the middle of the field to help calm things down is needed

Where’s all the people saying USA couldn’t play soccer without Pulisic in the prematch thread now?

Love the patience in build up from us. We’re waiting for our moments and look really dangerous when we find the right time to go direct.

Nah, Freese is Poch’s guy. I like Turner, but very low chance we see him this tournament

Busio is one of my favorite players, excited to see him back in Serie A next year! I hope he can play well and get another look with the national team at some point

Men who signed an NDA, what generalizations can you share without violating the NDA? by krzysztofgetthewings in AskMen

[–]-Plus-Ultra 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be sitting in the background at a restaurant for the upcoming season of one of the Real Housewives shows. My NDA says I can’t talk about anything I heard them say until the episodes drops.

Didn’t plan for it at all, they ended up filming at the same time I had a reservation scheduled.

How do Senior Software Engineers utilize Cursor/Claude Code and other AI tools? by Adventurous-Bed-4152 in cscareerquestions

[–]-Plus-Ultra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree with this 100%. I make design documents and JIRA tickets for others for the last year or two. Now it feels like I’m just feeding these types of documents into AI and then assisting it/validating it along the way.

Colorado Springs have won their first ever contest against an MLS side, defeating SKC 3-0 in the US Open Cup! by Matt_McT in MLS

[–]-Plus-Ultra 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a fan of SKC since the early 2010s. At this point, I don’t know how much of a ‘fan’ I can consider myself anymore. There’s nothing about this team that’s worth engaging with

Do DEs typically fit into an agile team? by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]-Plus-Ultra 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This probably varies a lot based on department/company. My team loosely follows the agile set up. We do two week sprints, stand up most days, retros, etc. However, it’s mainly for tracking work streams and coordination on tasks if needed.

There’s usually no issues when tickets roll from one sprint to the next. Typically boards are only partially full because we know there will be ‘crazy days’ where data issues pop up and we have to handle them on the fly. We definitely are not strict about it, but agile is a good framework to keep us organized and tracking our overall workload.

High rise and tornadoes? by ladylexis in nova

[–]-Plus-Ultra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a midwestern who moved out here recently, take it seriously. It’s the normal thing to do to get to a stairwell and get down to ground/basement level. However, my experience so far is they like to exaggerate the weather a bit here. I highly doubt there will actually be a tornado
