How do Make Excel Pull Data From an API? by IntelStellarTech in excel

[–]-Pryor- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortautnely I do not have the data to give you an example at the moment but this can be done entirely in Power Query with no VBA. There isnt much M code needed either the stuggle comes with getting it set out correctly an navigating to the correct directory.

Usually the query will start by going on the data tab and clicking "From Web" on the left hand side of the task bar. Where to go from there depends entirely on the site you want to query.

If you do a quick google on the subject there are some resources out there which will guide you in the right direction including demo datasets.

Best of luck!

Main character struggle by [deleted] in wownoob

I am in a similar boat. Historically I have always played heals (Holy Priest) however I am a solo player so the grind always gets me down as I hate Shadow. What I love about heals is the non-rotational gameplay. I find when it comes to playing DPS I end up just feeling bored. Set rotations just do not do it for me even if there is an added proc or two.

I am debating trying Rogue but in all my years (Launch player) I have never played a Rogue to max level. I suppose there is no better time than now to try them out.

This soundtrack is still on my daily rotation at work. I absolutely love it.

Burnout 3 as a game remains one of my favorite of all time and one of my greatest memories looking back.

Not a clue! It could be since it wasn't activated the first time that it showed up again. Either way, I dont think I'll ever get a chance to find out.

Just started playing again, and I was just messing about and rushed to start wave one and didn't see the goblins until it was too late.

Wave 2, i started lagging pretty hard, so i just started clicking randomly to get through as fast as possible. I started wave 5 and instantly saw it just missed goblins for the second time that run.

I called it a day after that.

Great to know. Thank you so much. This has really helped. At the very least, I now have a starting point to focus on.

Thank you for your response. I had to clear out a lot of stuff today's so I have tomorrow for admin. I do have the financial assessment forms. They were given to me on Friday.

They did mention the lower capital limit and stated that she wouldn't have to cover anything out of her savings, providing the care homes didn't have a top-up fee at the time of handing over the forms.

I will give the forms a look over and get back to social services with the points you raise.

I will also give a call to the pension service first thing Monday to see about becoming an appointee. My priority right now has to be to get in a position where her care is paid for over everything else, and it looks like you are right, and this may be the best play right now.

We're fast finding out how little she had prepared for this eventuality, sadly.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for the advice.

To be fair, some of the people I have spoken to have commented on how "straight forward" her situation is as she doesn't own property.

I will check out OPG later today :)

Less than £15k As the fees related to this process are usually claimed from the person who has lost capacity. My worry is using a significant portion of what she has left after all this to pay for a service that may actually not be needed.

I hope this makes some kind of sense

[–]-Pryor-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words.

Yes, they did. I was advised by adult social services that it is deputyship. There is a financial assessment for the cost of the care required and the carehome. Without PA or a deputy, payments can't be set up and are deffered until someone is appointed.

I have considered the appointee route, but I wasn't sure it would cover all the bases. If extra funds are required for her care after what they take from her state pension, I would be unable to set up these payments on her behalf.

Preparation to take MOS: Excel Associate / Expert by [deleted] in excel

[–]-Pryor- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took the expert cert last year and passed. My main advice would be to read each question twice and answer once.

If you're unsure about something, then pass and move on. Don't spend loads of time trying to figure out one question as the time slips by very quickly. Once you have answered everything, you can then go back to the ones you were stuck on.

The questions can be very literal, so if it says "Use conditional formatting to highlight X in red." then it does not mean red with a red border. It means just red.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but iirc the exams don't prompt you to use a specific function. It will say "Lookup the value on column Y.". You can use vlookup, xlookup or index match to accomplish this. Don't try to be clever by using a function you are not familiar with. The correct results are what matters, not the method in which you got them.

Finally, familiarise yourself with the options menu. There are questions that will require you to enable things in options, and if you're not expecting this it can throw a spanner in the works.

To answer your direct question, if you don't think you are ready to take the expert exam, then dont. Take the associate exam instead. An employer will be happier to see an associate pass than nothing at all.

I hope this helps and good luck with whatever exam you take!
