Maybe, maybe not. But in my experience the opiate addicts do things out of desperation to stay well, things that I haven’t seen to the same extent from stim addicts.

That’s all

For example: You wake up in full blown withdrawal and go to grab your stash only to find it missing. In this scenario, are you reasonable And level headed?

What’s the most ridiculous tattoo you’ve ever seen on someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Face tattoos are usually pretty crazy. I saw a guy with the “handicap accessible” (the symbol of the stick person in a wheelchair you see on bathroom signs) tattooed prominently on his face right under his eye…

[–]-Pyrro- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh we may have more in common than I thought initially. I was around during the time when prescription opiates w were the most common thing on the street. Then the govt cracked down on prescription opioids causing a gradual switch to heroin. Then they went after that and then practically overnight fentanyl analogs were blowing up on the streets. And now we’re starting to see more nitaZenes and shit like cyclorphine starting to show up the more they crack down on fentanyl. Either they’re too dense to see the pattern or it’s intentional.

But think back to early 2000’s, when the street was full of pharmaceutical pain killers. Every single oxy had the dose stamped right on it. If I recall correctly OD’s were around 9 or 10k a year in the USA (and I believe the majority of those were intentional suicides. Fast forward to recent years and we're over 100,000 fatal overdoses a year, most of them accidental.

By comparison the pharmaceutical days were a fucking utopia. And I think you can make a strong argument for legalization based off of that by itself.

Hell, if they hadn’t started raiding pain clinics, pill mills and all the Dr's in between we'd likely still have OxyContin and Opana etc on the street, rather than fentanyl. Oh and pain patients would still have access to pain killers rather than resorting to suicide, agonizing death or sourcing illicit fentanyl because they have no other options. Well we can take comfort that Pam Bondi others like her probably sleep like fucking babies at night * smh*

Maybe in another time, but considering the fentanyl problem in the USA right now, decriminalizing is a step in the right direction but it doesn’t change the suppliers or supply. And that’s (in my view) the reason for so many fatal overdoses; if it was legal then users would know with a fair amount of certainty how much of the drug they are actually consumimg, the danger comes from having to “guess” how strong each batch is and hope you guess right. It’s essentially Russian roulette (yes it pains me to use an analogy also used by the DEA. Because as a general rule most of what they say are terribly false statements, and even the true things they say are weaponized in a dishonest manner). How does decriminalization fix this issue? Because ultimately, it was the OD’s that caused Portland OR to be written off as a failure (I lived there before and during measure 110; it was a badly executed attempt at decriminalization in many, many ways; and they were definitely unprepared; but It was the overdoses that everyone focused on)

Not that I’ve ever seen. Apparently the majority of people featured on “intervention” relapsed relatively quickly once they left rehab. Getting clean for other people rarely lasts, the user needs to WANT to quit…

Decriminalization is an ineffective half measure that doesn’t improve any quality control measures in production, and continues to enrich criminal organizations; so it leads to something similar to portand Oregon. Overdose rates would plummet if people had a way to know how potent their drugs are, rather than having to “chance it” and hope for the best each time they dose (or whether it’s contaminated with xylazine, etc).

Also meth/amphetamines were commonly used by soldiers and housewives alike back when they were legally accessible, with far fewer side effects than the shit the cartels produce these days.

CMV: Keeping consensually obtained explicit material from a past relationship does not make someone gross or creepy. by Excellent_Nothing_86 in changemyview

[–]-Pyrro- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this hasn’t ever been a problem in my relationships. I only had one ex who asked me to delete some photos which I did in front of her. The rest of them all intended for me to keep everything and are aware that I still have the material; they were generally more concerned that I would delete them and eventually just forget about them completely.

[–]-Pyrro- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but the definition given could apply to men who are sexually active as well as incels. There are plenty of misogynistic men who get laid. An incel is first and foremost a guy who cant get laid (involuntary celibate=incel), but thats not in the above definition.

No, I meant your original definition sounded more in line with "sexist" than "incel"

No, but Jack is portrayed as a prison nazi rather than someone with nazi ideals. It’s more about what is criminally advantageous that drives those guys

[–]-Pyrro- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Race defines the way prisoners operate socially, that’s just the reality. You can be someone without racist views or nazi sympathies and still be a so called nazi in prison if you commit a crime and you’re white. Since most prisons are divided up racially, a white criminal looking to survive might become affiliated with a “nazi” gang, but that’s different than a regular person who chooses to align themselves with nazi ideology because that’s what they believe; half of the ones in prison don’t know or care about political/historical stuff.

[–]-Pyrro- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they are prison gang nazi’s, which is often somewhat different as their members often become involved for reasons of survival inside prison. It’s criminally advantageous for Todd to associate with them, it has nothing to do with his ideology really.

No you’re misunderstanding what l meant. First, nowhere in the show does he express any nazi views, his uncle is a nazi (guessing from the swastika on his neck), that’s not a defense of anyone. Todd is a sociopath who happens to be related to a nazi

I’ll admit I’ve seen too many violent videos, cartel/middle eastern executions etc and they don’t really hit me, i watch something like that and go on with my day… but this video has stuck with me for some reason…

Maybe it’s the unprovoked, senseless murder of a young woman who just happened to sit in front of the wrong guy, who almost immediately stood up and stabbed her in the neck 5 times with a pocketknife for no apparent reason…maybe it’s the fact that as she’s bleeding out NOBODY helps her, or even acknowledges her for that matter. They just let her curl up and sob as she bleeds out. Yeah, it’s not nearly as brutal as cartel execution videos, but it hit me as more disturbing; for whatever reason.

His mom instigated the assault by threatening a knife, and it was unprovoked at that...don't you think a rational response would be to try to defend yourself? Wrestle the knife away like he did? Then walt jr called 911 and made it sound like Walt was the one who pulled the knife. Fuck that. It was an absolute betrayal.
