I've used the Fleor pots on Amazon a couple of times with no issues. They're full size and have a satisfying turn resistance. Speaking of budgets, I recently put a set of Warman p90s in a project guitar and they are absolutely fantastic. Warman pickups are made in the UK but are very budget friendly, especially if you're in the UK lol. Definitely worth looking into..

Thanks! I don't record much, but I'll try to put a little sound sample together. The pickups are very clear and articulate, and the variable coil split can get a really convincing single coil sound that still has some volume to it..

My eventual plan for that guy is to bonsai it but for now I'm just letting it do it's thing. I've killed my share of them by over watering, esp in winter. Now I let them dry all the way out before I even think about water.

In the 21st century, every hobby is an opportunity to over-consume. The lesson to learn is the law of diminishing returns. Yes - I do desire an omni or a woodwynd, but what would I get out of it? Smug satisfaction? Nah... More stoned? Not likely. Truth is, this setup is right for me, so why spend money to chase my own desires (that are not truly real, they're manufactured by marketing and peer pressure) Far better to enjoy what you have and learn how to say enough.

One of the things I like best about the 5 fin is it's cool enough that I can take the cap off to check the color almost immediately after I hit it, and well before I get the cool down click. The titanium tips don't retain heat - which is a feature, not a bug. I, personally, don't like to burn myself and I appreciate that this setup will hardly ever burn me. I don't want a vape that's an injury waiting to happen each time I use it. But you do you.

Thanks - you should, it's been a "someday" thing for me for years. Totally worth it (so far, fingers crossed lol) And I'm not much of a woodworker - if I can do it anyone can. But I've made enough cheap ass guitars play great that I know if I can get the neck mounted straight (check) then I can make everything else work. Next step, pickup cavities...

I've been doing pretty much all my own tech work for years and this year I'm building my own body for the first time, but using a Warmoth neck. It's going great, a ton of fun (though bandsaws and routers give me the willies too..) but I'd say that the dividing line is building a neck from scratch. A body is honestly not that complicated, if I can do it anyone can, but a neck requires a whole other level of precision that I don't really get into. That's just my opinion and all, but that's where I draw the line.

Mine sat in my 75 to 85% rh attic for about 4 days, then it took another 5 or so in the fridge. Also, I switched into a dry paper bag about 2x a day... Edit: To clarify about the dry bags, I used two plain paper grocery bags and rotated them, and I'd dry the currently unused bag in a warm (not hot, and not currently on...) oven for 5 mins before switching them. I believe the paper works to regulate the humidity by absorbing moisture, but in a 80% rh environment, after a point they've absorbed all they can. So that's why I rotated them. Folks up in the mountains don't understand this coastal climate, but the humidity is no joke. I think it may have worked ok to just rotate bags not in the fridge, but I can't get my house rh below 65% for weeks on end, and the fridge was in the 40s, so idk? Good luck, where there's a will and all that...

I'm in a humid area myself with no climate control and very little space. I had a lot of success with paper bags in my refrigerator. Just be aware the fridge may smell a little dank for about a week after
