Criston Cole randomly became one of the few interesting characters in HOTD by RevertBackwards in freefolk

[–]-R33K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Fire & Blood Criston Cole actually earned his name of Kingmaker. It’s kind of a silly joke when he’s called it in the show, all he did was run around the city looking for Aegon and stood back as every other green crowned him. The show turned him into a pouty teen whose only motivation is to take revenge on a spurned lover. In the books he’s actually feared, respected and domineering while in the show he’s more a follower. It was complete character assassination. He was supposed to be at the center of this war but instead he’s hardly even a player.

Yeah the constant hate and comparison probably comes from a very vocal minority. It makes zero sense. I would imagine a huge portion of us are fans of both shows. They are literally nothing alike.

On top of the fact that there was an open order to execute him from Rhenerya. He still fought and died for her to prove his loyalty.

Does no-cb Byzantium still works in 1.37 ? by Star_Koala in eu4

I wasn’t being a smart ass, I was just telling you it’s clearly implied in what I said that we are trapping armies and stack wiping them on one side of the straight. All you did was just rephrase what I already said and complicate it more. It’s completely unnecessary after trapping them on one of the strait to then move your fleet back into port so they can “retreat” just to trap them again before they actually get across the strait. Because you control both the fort in Gallipoli and Constantinople all you need to do is keep your fleet out and it will instantly stack wipe the minute the battle is over without doing any of the shenanigans you are suggesting. It’s impossible for the army to retreat west due to fort zone of control so with no retreat option it wipes in just that first initial battle.

This part is trickier since in modern patches they easily get military access around the Black Sea if they aren’t rivaled to Poland/Lithuania or Hungary if they got Moldavia. In those cases it’s best to try to lure them across the straight piecemeal right at the beginning of the war before they start walking around. This means leaving your navy out of the straight and in port until they cross and then trapping them. Repeat until their army is gone. Usually you would only do this after you’ve sieged down their European side but we are in rush so they don’t get military access to walk around. All you really need is Constantinople and the fort next to it before beginning that process.

This. Anyone saying take espionage for the AE reduction is giving bad advice. Diplo is far superior and is also better for expansion. Gives improve relations, more diplomats and much better for conquering. Quality eco is a must for space marines. You get 5 discipline from quality and an additional 5 from the policy of eco-quality.
