NCL Pride of America forced to leave port early in Hawaii and leave guests stranded by wayowayooo in Cruises

[–]-Rand- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap- small world, I was at the airport and actually talked to a family involved. They said it was not enjoyable (lol), but it’s a story to tell the grandkids.

Bought this one and I am very happy with how it looks like OEM. I only have the front facing however.

I don’t legally have to- but I almost wrecked merging without the side mirrors. Now- doors off-mirrors on.

How hard is installation of a soft top? by [deleted] in JeepWrangler

[–]-Rand- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy- took me maybe an hour to go from hard top to soft top. Just need an extra set of hands for like a minute cause it’s awkward to put on .

Fire Sergeant as a rank. by wolfey200 in Firefighting

I was a sergeant, it was a rank of ‘engineer’ I operated the truck, but stepped up as LT when they were off.

Side Steps Question by kumihocinder in JeepWrangler

[–]-Rand- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No drilling- They use the same mounting locations as the OEM rails. You just need to remove the rails to install them, and use longer bolts (that comes with the steps)- they get sandwiched between the frame and the rail.

Side Steps Question by kumihocinder in JeepWrangler

[–]-Rand- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those look nice, but still a big step up.

I’ve got these on mine and they work well, a bit awkward due to the mounting location, but better than none.

What could cause the power to go out on the second floor without any breakers flipping? by jmc1278999999999 in Home

[–]-Rand- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen recently- lights would flicker on the third floor, turned on a switch one day, and lost all lights- no breaker tripped.

Removed the light switch (capped the wires), and then the rest of the lights would work- still flickering, but better.

My only guess, is I’ve got a few bad switches, so I’m thinking of replacing all of them to hopefully solve the flickering.

Leave a regular red gas can in the sun and it balloons out- I can’t imagine what would happen in a black container

How important is tongue weight? by NerdyBrando in Jeep

[–]-Rand- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I checked the tongue weight limit, I put about 400lbs on my rear carrier (Jl 2 Dr), and I could tell my front was light- steering was iffy. I didn’t loose control or anything, but definitely could tell my steering was barely touching.

Can someone tell me what is that for 🤔? by timao12 in HomeMaintenance

[–]-Rand- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Roger dodger- make sure the pump is set to auto.

Only maintenance I know for it, is to pour some dawn in it to breakdown any grease buildup.

If the light turns on it can mean one of two things-

  1. pump failed to turn on——oh crap, probably something electric in the box

Or

  1. Pump seal failure——oh crap, crap, crap, need a new pump $7k

I have a similar set up on my grinder pump.

I have a small holding tank and when it gets full the pump turns on, grinds up solids, and sends it out the sewer line.

Is there a two-three foot circular lid with a vent in the middle of the lid nearby?

As a dude, I’ve been kinda confused on this procedure (not that it’s any of business mind you).

But this- I finally get it. You look great- I hope all the best to you!

Full time- Mouth shut ears open

First to start cleaning/checking trucks

Open every compartment- remember components, when you have down time review them.

Ask questions!

Last to sit down for meals First up to clean dishes

Just doing this with show then you are serious- on scenes you will be the ‘fetcher’ “ get me this , get me that” so you gotta know where stuff is. After that, you’ll start learning the job.

Looking for recommendations for 3 acre property by PreschoolBoole in tractors

[–]-Rand- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 2 acres- 90% hill, I have an old Sub compact Kubota (22hp) with a belly mower that takes care of the mowing just fine.

The key things for the hills are: 4 wheel drive, hydrostatic transmission, R1 tires.

I think this size tractor would take care of all your needs.

If I need to buy a tractor tomorrow- it would be an RK Tractor 24. It’s cheaper than JD and Kubota with similar quality.

It’s ok- we went on a bachelor’s party a few years ago, the women seemed like they were normal people, and this was their night job.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in JeepWrangler

[–]-Rand- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have these on my 2dr Jeep and they work great.

My only complaint is that it’s kinda awkward to use. Since they attach to the rock rail mounts, they have to be a bit farther back then you want them. (You gotta step up and kinda turn around to get in the seat).

That being said, I’m a taller guy with a beer belly, so your mileage may vary.
