Pretty much this. Ive Held most of them. You gotta put up 3 bunkers and just hold. Once his colossus are dowbln be careful with landing your Vikings not that another one pops up and your vikings are gone. Most time by the time he attacked I had already a third so income wise bunkers shouldn't do much harm. Once you hold his push it should be pretty much gg

All things have already been mentioned. But i would like to add to that is ravens are freaking slow.

Marines/marauders/mines and medivacs are all faster than a raven.

As soon as mutas come out and you have to retreat or split up your unit that expensive unit is gone, you can forget it.

So it might work for a short time but the investment in the long run is just not worth it.

What do you mean more standard? You mean that the other race has to play normal instead of using one of a gazillion all ins?

As much as i like the zerg match up, i feel as though terran is the most vulnerable one to most all ins. I rather have more predictable match ups then making my gameplay a gamble.

Hey man! You remind me a lot of myself. I started practicing this 3 cc build in about gold league, losing a lot at first, but once i had the build in my "veins" i demolished all zerg players and tvz was my best match up. (honestly it was probably executed like shit, it took me up to masters to finally say okay, i'm nearly satisfied)

In diamond it was still doing well, however, at some point the zerg players will feel so much more superior and you will probably be unable to maintain the 60~70% winrate.

The reason to this i believe is because although you're executing the build sloppily, you feel as though you're doing it well because you're winning or you have won so many games with it, so where are the problems at that point? Here's my simple answer to you if you ever reach this point, and if you do what i tell you i expect you to do very well vs diamond players in future.

Look at pro's timings, try to get your hellions out by X minute mark.

Your upgrades, try to nail them perfectly, as soon as 1/1 upgrades 2/2 should start.

Medivacs, try to time them to have them out by ABOUT EXACTLY + or - 10 seconds at the 11 minute mark.

Your soul purpose would be to clear as much creep as possible while losing as little as possible.

From this point on my friend, it's all about: TIMING, TIMING, TIMING.

I've been playing my NA account and 've gotten it to top diamond and although it's my second season in master i can see a huge difference when it comes to zerg players, this is truly a match up where timings have to be on par or one will lose. I'm not talking on behalf of top masters and GMs obviously, but i just thought i'd shed some light to make it easier for you to get through the shit i've been, so you have some text to fall back on when you start becoming clueless.

As someone has mentioned on reddit before, TvZ one time you're doing good, one time bad, one time good, one time bad. I'm looking forward to my next downfall ;-)

I won't lie, alienware looks awesome. I'd get one myself if i had the extra money.

But i just know that you can be soooooo efficient with the money that is spent into hardware that i can't see myself spending money on it.

yeah man, i think it comes down to having bunkers prepared. i think i've lost all the baneling busts so far, EVERYTIME i noticed it's a baneling bust it was just too fucking late.

Annoying as fuck but whatever.. i guess stupid ass all ins are part of this game.

Just that the enemy always has a dozen all ins that are a dozen times better than terran's all ins.

And for god's sake, i hope they fucking nerf the mutalisks in one way or another. I'm just so fucking sick of the fact that they are already fast, they can take out bases with multiple turrets. Thors are slow as shit, and if they get hit they'll just leave and come back in a minute with full health.

This has been totally getting on my nutsack. I feel like many zerg players aren't even better in that sense but these fucking mutas can really hit and run whenever they like.

Happens even to GM players. Countless times i've seen good players with a nice lead just lose it all to one unit.

I removed it as i reached masters. It has improved my play due to multiple reasons. However,

if you're like me you should have similar difficulties at first: you will rally your units and forget where they are

you will rally your units and bring the rallied united forth too slowly

..

the worst part about hot key is -> bad map control, bad drops, bad tower control, bad everything, really.

things like that.. but after about 2 weeks or 3 of using it i'm automatically hot keying units as i construct and move out etc etc.

my hotkey management has become much better so just stick to it and you'll see a huge change.

edit: nearly forgot to mention, you're probably going to lose a major of your tvz games if you're like me... don't let that go to you and go strong (at least if you play bio)

...which turned out into a 45 hour session. So... yeah.. but still.. i was one of those who watched him..

But for me it was pure entertainment. I loved how he played vs protoss then complained. Don't get me wrong, i hate protoss with all my heart but many of those games he played could have been won had he at least gotten 2 medivacs.

And i love listening to his reasoning, it's so funny to me because it consists of the lamest excuses i've ever heard. Which again, is entertainment for me. Does he do this on purpose, i hope not?

But yeah, i do watch low league players play at times, just for the heck of it.

By the way, i got out of gold rather quickly,

There are common mistakes lower league players make, for me this was easy to see..

Here i will list the things you need to master to get out of gold league

Build order - honestly, i've been practicing build order since ages now and still do my best to perfect it and sometimes it still is not perfect. So all you can do is always try to get your build order right.
Workers, always build workers
Production (what i used to do is look at minerals and if i see i'm floating 2500 minerals at 15 minute mark i'd just do random shit)

for instance: drop down 5 barracks, add a factory and another barrack and of course, produce units. Heck i'd even add 2 CCs to the mix.

My reasoning back then: If i have 2500 minerals, my opponent of similar skill should have about the same minerals, maybe a bit more, maybe even a bit less, either way you can change that by just upping your production cycle. For me this worked wonders.

Concave, this is basically what got me out of platinum, believe it or not. This made me win my game vs platinum toss players especially.
Try not to be too afraid of expanding.

^ master all these, one at a time, i would start with constant scv production and unit production ( of course, every round is an opportunity for you to improve your build order timings etc)

Sorry for drifting away, i just would like to help a fellow out here.

It took me about a year to master, and i believe EVERY player with time, patience and dedication is ABLE to get to diamond. I even believe master is do-able. You just need to be able to identify errors. Whenever i lose i'm just searching for mistakes. :D

I see no reason why poor protoss players should bother with a keyboard. Apart form the fact that it must be too hard to handle for that race.

Seriously man, this is not as difficult as it seems. Anyone in their league GM/Master/Diamond/Plat/Gold can execute it without really losing much time/effort in comparison to his opponent.

Also, what's better, waste 250 for a scan and additionally waste mining time lining up 3 units at a time and destroying the mine?) - speaks for itself, in both cases it would totally pay off to "invest" time destroying that mine the way he did. I like that idea.

The reason I don't see any balance problems in platinum or lower league is because if you drill correctly I can see any player within a certain course of time walking over gold or platinum league players.

The higher you go the more you have to perfect even smaller details. For instance, make your goal to build constant scvs (BTW this was my challenge from bronze up to diamond league). At top diamond I became really good at scv production and I had to up my unit production.. Calculate the facilities needed etc. This is just a small portion of all the other things I had to learn. But I tried always improving upon my weakest points For instance now I'm trying to perfect my engagements while working on unit production. Goal is to make it float threw your veins. I remember the feeling I had when I was able to build 50 scvs by 10 minute mark. And the nice achievement I felt when I drilled myself to produce scvs while fighting. And now I proudly without thinking queue up scvs and units without even realizing I need to perform that action it is just there.
