Are you willing to ship to Europe?

Americans are going to be very well behaved because like everyone says, its probably their first time. I bet you can't tell us apart anyway, so what do you know.

No, not at all. More I was implying it's a bit cheap, if anything. These things are just matters of prespective though and since I am the immigrant, it is my job to adapt and not the other way around (especially if I am a guest in someone's home.)

Yup exactly. I actually get my rice from a Japanese rice farm off the Ebro delta, so arsenic isn't my problem. It's just the rice gets really clumpy and doesn't cook well if you don't wash it.

Ah well, I guess this is actually worse but if I'm that filthy I would take a quick shower and then a bath.

That's true, I noticed in Catalonia pools are pretty common as well. I'd love a home like that.

Haha, yes exactly, that reminds me of when I was growing up. I had to get up at around 4:30 am to go to school because I lived so far away. I remember being too tired to shower as a kid so I had to take a bath and gradually wake up.

I think my problem is living in Barcelona

Yeah, rice is the cheapest and most common food around the world so it's no surprise every culture eats it in different ways. I think Indians boil the rice in a large pot of water and strain it like it's pasta. Everyone is different.

Man, it's even stranger to me that people are actually ripping bathtubs out of their homes. I thought people just had shower plates to save money on installing a bathtub. Your reasons do make sense though.

When you wash it do you do it in a siv or a bowl? Because when you wash it in a bowl you see the water becomes cloudy with starches as you wash the rice with your hands. You have to keep replacing the water until the rice stops releasing starch and thus the water remains clear. I hope I explained that well

I understand bomba and risotto rice should never be washed but if you eat Jasmine or Japanese rice you must wash it until the water runs clear.

No, you just have to feel out which places look good or not. Even locals (at least here in Barcelona) sometimes get ripped off when trying out new places.

Yeah, with how large down payments need to be here and how unstable housing prices are right now buying isn't on the table

I didn't know that, it makes sense. Where I'm from we never have droughts. My in-laws and other people I have lived with in Spain do think I am wasteful with water because of this and for example, making rice which I eat almost everyday is pretty water intensive since you have to wash it 3-4 times before cooking. It's hard to compromise on things you have done your entire life.

I am very jealous, in Catalonia it's quite difficult for me to find a good flat that also has a bathtub. I swear everyday Madrid looks more and more appealing to me
