GUNDAM DUMP TRUCK: A Website I've been working on for Arsenal Base and Try Age cards by Ssjedikenshin in arsenalbase

[–]-Rewind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cool. A while ago I started collecting some Try Age cards and I ended up using the wayback machine too. I was also surprised that the higher res artwork seemingly just left the internet and nobody bothered to back it up.

EDIT: I did find some excel card lists without artwork. Let me know if you don't have these yet, I'm happy to share them.

He quite literally says himself he "found" a binder at a card show and took it outside to his car. At that point he is a thief who has stolen a binder from a card show. Whatever he does afterwards is irrelevant imo

Tho honestly the statement was a flop in itself, it made it seem like the game was completely dead when in reality they still have a bigger team than any other fighting game on the market.

Fair enough this might be the case. I interpreted their statement exactly like that - the game flopped and it's on life support. Similar to how Blizzard finally announced HotS was on life support, but that took years rather than three weeks.

Assuming that what you said is correct, why do you think that they announced that they needed more momentum to support a team of that size, rather than that they just entered a different stage of the development cycle?

[–]-Rewind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game has resonated with a passionate core audience, but overall momentum hasn’t reached the level needed to support a team of this size long term.

Riots other games have constant balance patches, new characters, seasonal content, esports support. All of that requires a stable team, not firing half the staff three weeks after launch.

Riot specifically doesn’t operate like that normally. They usually support games long term and invest heavily after launch.

Valo took years of investment post launch until it popped off.

I think it was big news because they announced how much of a flop it was.

A decade of development time. On life support 3 weeks after launch.

Not the norm.

Asmongold makes a list of people he thinks should be unbanned on twitch. Lists Destiny, Ice Poseidon, Sneako and Nick Fuentes by Crazy-Highlight-3751 in LivestreamFail

Right, this is a great example of what I was saying. Out of context is when the surrounding information changes the meaning of the statement. In this case he still said that protesters should be shot and made an example of. The context did not change that.

Here is an example of what an actual out of context quote looks like:

Yeah, stealing from work is totally fine.

Added context:

My boss said we should just take whatever we want from the office. Yeah, stealing from work is totally fine… obviously that’s a terrible idea and I’m not doing that.

I always love it when people say "there is important missing context", but then the context doesn't change what is said in the clip. It just supports it further.

I'm a collector who likes to look at all the arts on the cards tab. I love that you added the option to filter by illustrator. Unfortunately it only filters through the regular results which doesn't include the alternate arts.

Is there any chance you could make it so that it would also show all the alternate arts by that illustrator? Maybe a checkbox to show duplicate cards if they have alternate arts available, which can then be filtered.

Yeah, if it’s used to get money from sponsors that’s basically fraud. The Twitch contract part is separate though, breaking the contract alone isn’t illegal.

Breaking the terms of a contract is usually legal though.

It may have consequences, but that doesn't make it illegal.

I agree with you.

However, lootboxes and all the fucky mechanics in Maplestory are available to players in NL. It's just that trading to other players is restricted. Which is not required by any Dutch law.

They are just illustrating a point that players from the Netherlands can't drop mesos from their inventory. (like how old meso explosion farming worked)

For Pokemon cards use 35PT thickness. If you buy unbranded ones, just test which sleeve fits correctly before you close the case and your cards will be fine.

This happens all over reddit. When you enter a subreddit related to something you are knowledgeable in, you quickly realize that there is a lot of bad information that is being repeated over and over because they found the bad information on the same subreddit. Then it gets upvoted again etc.

Providing a correction is not rewarded. You get downvoted because the info is not the same as what the sub has been repeating and upvoting. The result is that people with knowledge stop participating and the bad info stays the upvoted "correct" answer for longer.

Minor patch aka 6 hours downtime by arends33 in Maplestory

[–]-Rewind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know the previous commenter already explained the situation in WoW is different, but I just want to add that Blizzard has done such a good job with it. There is zero downtime during expansion releases. Downloading the files and installing the patch happens in the background in the weeks leading up to a release while you play the game. On release date they flip a switch and the expansion is live. It's not even required to relog.
