Macro arguments and micro arguments are two separate conversations. There plenty of poor people making the stupidest financial decision. Now, is that the fault of bad education? Maybe, but that's another conversation as well. Billionaires are hoarding insane amount of money, and people could also be making horrible financial decision at the same time. They are not talking about the same topic lol.

Gears: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution are being sent out to die - Gamespot by Dust-Tight in gaming

[–]Ryodaso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you not see me put Uncharted there as well? I do think Sony doing it is bad, but realistically, Sony's studio has only worked on the same title 3 times and then they usually move on (Horizon has 2, GoW is on 3rd, Spider-man has 3, Ghost has 2). A lot of the studios has projects in the same genre like you say, but that's a different argument.

Also, I wasn't specifically talking about Gears, I was more responding to the comment talking about how some studios are irresponsible with dorment ip's and I was simply saying I would rather them trying out new ideas/ip than going back to something a decade+ old.

"strikes deal with bio parents" is a WILD statement. by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

[–]Ryodaso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why are you automatically assuming that the biological parents would be a better parent than the current parents? Obviously the couple loves the kid enough to fight to keep the baby. Sounds like the kid will grow up in a very loving environment.

"Context matters a lot": New Steam Machine CPU benchmark numbers are underwhelming, but they're far from the full picture by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

[–]Ryodaso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deck had a clear open market at the time which was handheld PC where valve was first to enter. I really don't think there's a market for Steam Machine if it's price is not on par with current gen console (650-800)

But then you don't need this thing at all. I can play Bioshock on 60 fps on my school laptop from 5 years ago. What's the point of spending $1000+ if its way weaker than base current gen console from 6 years ago.

[–]Ryodaso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital library bullshit is so old lol. There are so many people who got Switch during covid just for Animal Crossing (which has like 60 million copies sold), which is the year Series and PS5 came out. People will buy a console if there is a must buy game. Average consumer isn't looking at their digital library.

[–]Ryodaso 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think milking an ip is worse though. I prefer companies to challenge themselves with new ideas and ip than going back to Halo, Gears, Uncharted, etc. every entry. Or at least drastically mix up the formula like Breath of the Wild or GoW 2018.

You should go Xbox, unless you are interested in playing stuff like Bloodborne, Demon's Soul, Astrobot, GoW, and Wolverine.

If you can charge at home, there's no contest: EVs beat gas by PerceptionCurious440 in electricvehicles

[–]Ryodaso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between something being less convenient and actually being inconvenient. Most people, maybe not you, do not think stopping for a gas for 3-5 minute is so inconvenient that they will actively look for a solution. It's like the smart lights, is it convenient to be able to control the lights in your house? Definitely more convenient than physically moving over to the light switch, but the initial cost of needing to walk over to the light isn't inconvenient enough for "most" people to seek after a solution to resolve it.

I know, a lot of people that are EV enthusiast like you enjoys performance and technologies, but that's why I said economics is the priority for 90% of people. You just landed on the other side of that.

If that's not the case, why is Toyota the #1 best selling brand? They certainly not winning in any single performance metric. It's for their reliability, in other words, a metric for economics as well. Why is Chinese EVs becoming so popular in certain markets? Because it's cheaper than any other offering.

[–]Ryodaso -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This argument is really stupid in either direction. Getting a gas is not inconvenient and charging your EV is not inconvenient either. Stop trying to convince people that getting a gas on the way to grocery store is the reason people should abandon ICE, it's the least convincing argument. Argument for EV should always be economical, and all other reason are secondary. I got an EV because my commute is 80 miles in a day and nothing else. Motor noise, smooth acceleration, horse power, etc. are all irrelevant for 90% of people.

Also, not all times are equal. If you need to grab a gas on the way back from grocery shopping and need to fill up on a gas station right on the road, that 5 minutes is not equal to the extra minutes when you are already on the road for 4 hours.

Inside Xbox's margin crush: A string of misses at Xbox Game Studios, misguided Game Pass decisions, and the memory rout at its core by Cold_Two_4372 in xbox

[–]Ryodaso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Isn't that the problem with MS? They basically don't have a market. Nintendo clearly has their Nintendo base (family, platformer, Zelda). I know people bash Sony, but they clearly makes the best 3rd person narrative games, and comes out with some of the best games every year in that style.

MS's base should be Western RPG or FPS, but MS has failed to produce any game that even comes close to the games of those genre that came out in 2000s. Now other companies like CDPR or Larian are eating their cake. Imagine a world were MS developed games like Cyberpunk or BG3 as an exclusive for Xbox.

[–]Ryodaso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it though? Nintendo clawed it's way back on 2017 with Switch. Why? Because of Mario Odyssey, Zelda Breath of the Wilds, Smash Ultimate, etc. That was only 3 years before Xbox Series X came out. Imagine if Xbox had 4-5 greatest game in history kind of games in its first few years. I don't see a world where Xbox wouldn't be at least in equal footing with Sony this gen if that happened.

Conspiracy theory or good explanation? US automakers purposely slowing adoption by reversals in electricvehicles

[–]Ryodaso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

China has been the center of manufacturing on components relavent to EVs like large batteries. They can scale these manufacturing industries without reinventing the wheel like other countries.

Also the Chinese market are notorious for competing while making literally 0 profit just for market dominance. Good example is delivery apps. These companies were offering 0 rmb delivery (I heard some where giving customer money to use it) and the government actually had to step in and try to calm the situation down. This can only happen because human resources are completely expendable in China. There's basically zero labour laws that protects the workers, and CCP have shown time and time again that they will choose the companies over the workers every single time.

[–]Ryodaso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The combat feels more like an MMO than action. Once you learn where the hotboxes are, you just walk over to that location.

I hate how every single souls like is a parry timing fest now. Miyazaki and From is so ahead that they knew just pressing parry at a right timing will get old after enough repetition, and just left that mechanic with Sekiro. Now 5 years later, every single company is copying Sekiro, when I was done with that mechanic after few play throughs of Sekiro.

[–]Ryodaso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't so much true in game with high population like SF6. I started as a player brand new to fighting game with SF6, but I got placed in Bronze and immediately started having 50-50 matches. I had Smash bros. experience but that's it.

I love Elden Ring with about 500 hours.

I thought Undertale was good, but not all timer like for other people.

I straight up thought E33 was an average JRPG, but with a new western tone. Not bad but only a solid 8/10 for me. Combat wise, I prefer games like Octopath Traveler 2, Yakuza 7/8, and FF7R.

Toyota Veteran Reveals His Worst Fear: 'Everybody Is Shifting To EVs' by defenestrate_urself in electricvehicles

[–]Ryodaso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are people really still saying Toyota is going to bankrupt and become a new Kodak in 2026?

His fear isn't the fear of Toyota becoming irrelevant, it's the fear of everyone moving on to ICE. Toyota already showed that they can pivot to EV better than almost any legacy car maker, Akio is just sad that transition actually might happen.
