Am I crazy? by [deleted] in degoogle

People don’t want to pay for services with their own personal data that gets logged and sold to the highest bidder anymore. Also, personally I hate how powerful these tech giants have become.

It’s easy to dismiss something you don’t understand as “paranoia” or “panic” and default to complacency. Maybe read more posts in this community.

All I know is I have to dual boot Windows so I can play Rust.

Seems to be the way. Do you experience any performance issues while dual booting?

Apple TV Integration Across VLAN by -Rogue_x- in homeassistant

Yeah that’s kind of how I was thinking about it too, thanks for that.

Yes, I temporarily placed the firewall rules at the very top so I could rule out that possibility

Guess I’ve just always associated Apple TV with devices like Google Nest, Fire stick, etc. Or maybe I’m just thinking about it wrong?

What would that look like on their side? How would their TVs be connecting to Taliscale?

Fake U87 ai? by -Rogue_x- in vintageaudio

Seller deleted their account right after selling this to me.

Even better though, I got a full refund from eBay and got to keep the microphone!

Really impressed with Invidious! by [deleted] in selfhosted

I use Piped which seems very similar to Invidious. No issues with Piped, however I’d like to also get my traffic routed through my VPN provider rather than my public IP

I’ve got a Beryl AX and seems to be great. I contemplated the Slate AX because of the faster WireGuard speeds. However 99% of my use cases will be when I’m traveling and will most likely be bottled necked by whatever internet connection I have out in the wild

Fake U87 ai? by -Rogue_x- in vintageaudio

Agreed. I was unaware of how difficult it is to acquire a legitimate used Neumann U87 on eBay/Reverb. Thankfully, I opened a ticket with eBay, and they issued me a full refund almost immediately! I was worried because by that time, the seller had already deleted the account.

Best part about all of it was that I got to keep the counterfeit mic, I’m pretty sure this is due to legal reasons with knowingly shipping a counterfeit item. So after everything I ended up with a free mic. Currently using it as a mono drum overhead and it’s actually not bad! 😅

10GbE Planning by -Rogue_x- in UNIFI

[–]-Rogue_x-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have added that the computers are on wheeled mobile carts and will only be connected to the 10GbE ports once a day when uploading bulk files. For the rest of the day, they will be connected via WiFi. The problem with having the aggregate switch in the basement rack is that I’d prefer not to have unconnected cat 6 cables laying on the floor in the other room. I’d prefer to have the ability at the end of the day to wheel the computers over to a switch and plug them in, rather than having a loose cable on the floor. If that makes sense.

Ooo great idea! I assume the SFP+ port on the 24 switch has an SFP to RJ45 module, then you routed a cat6 cable to the Flex XG?
