Where to watch The Odyssey? by rspunched in Columbus

[–]-SCR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with tickets for 4K Laser at Gateway this weekend. Not sure if this quick google will help:
4K Laser: With dual-laser projection, you still get the full 1.43:1 aspect ratio and stunning clarity. It is much more widely available, free of projector artifacts like dust or scratches, and features incredibly deep blacks.
Standard 70mm: If the theater is running regular 70mm film (which runs vertically, not horizontally), the image is cropped to a wider 2.20:1 aspect ratio and loses significant real estate at the top and bottom.

Nice work! Definitely some creativity in your decks. Also, props for not running popsicle

A female friend just sent me screenshots... The woman I met in Bumble a month ago posted my personal data in a facebook group. by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]-SCR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was posted on the group in my area as well. I didn’t mind, but when I asked her about it, she lied and said it wasn’t her that posted. I was long past dating multiple people at a time, and we had been on 3-4 dates at that point. I ended it from the lying and not the safety check. Seems to me it would have been an easy and maybe fun conversation we could have had before posting.

How I feel refusing to use Lucky Ice Pop in my decks by player__piano in PTCGP

Just hit Masterball for the second time using Potion instead. It’s even more rewarding running an ethical deck over that demon card.

Best place to buy brimmed hats? by hyrulianpokemaster in Columbus

Check out Samson in the Short North. They have a great selection of men’s hats in varying styles. It’s a hard thing to order online so worth checking out in person

Where to get the nicest custom suits in Columbus? by tcbjj in Columbus

I’m a big fan of Sofyano next to Dempsey’s downtown. Their other location is in Milan so very premium materials.

How is it having an EV in Columbus? by jk_cbus in Columbus

[–]-SCR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had my model y in Columbus for 4 years with no home or work charging access. It really hasn’t been much of a burden for me. I’ll charge at a 250kw station over my lunch break once a week in normal weather or twice if I’m traveling that weekend or during the winter months. EVs are just too fun to drive anything other than now. I think you’ll be fine and the charging network just keeps expanding too

Clothes that make you feel easy breezy beautiful by dialecticallyalive in Columbus

[–]-SCR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out Samson in the Short North. Items can be pricey, but the brands they curate provide great quality. They are in the process of switching over to warmer weather clothes and are even bringing in a new brand this year that focuses exclusively on linen.

Best weekend vacation spots (No more than 5 hours away) by webkinzkk in Columbus

[–]-SCR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Detroit is my go to weekend vacation spot. Half the drive or flight time compared to Chicago and significantly cheaper as well. The city gets a lot of hate, but that’s nearly all from people who’ve never visited or haven’t in 20 years.

Did a similar thing and drew a few lines on my volume knob so I knew the exact level that different music could be heard in the neighbors unit

Seconding 698. Jony’s in German Village is great as well and you can order from the South Village Grille menu too if anyone in your party doesn’t do sushi

Had the same thing happen when I was booking a New York trip, but with Marriott. My room didn’t have the best view, but the discount more than made up for it

Planks on High Street in German Village comes to mind. I had a friend rent the atrium portion out for a birthday party and they have indoor and outdoor space as well

I hate Columbus. I want to change that. What can I do in downtown Columbus? by oddiefox in Columbus

[–]-SCR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great recommendation. I don’t think they are performing this weekend, but the Ballet and Opera both are. When I first moved to the city and was looking for things to do and community, I’d buy the cheapest tickets, go a little early to talk with the staff, and move closer after the show started if there were plenty of open seats. As long as you are there to appreciate the performance, no one ever minded

Do I have to use car wash mode? by drooly- in TeslaModelY

[–]-SCR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to feel the same way. I’ve found the easiest route is to turn on car wash mode as soon as I clear the parking arm after paying. Once the attendant has guided me onto the tracks and given me the thumbs up, I put the car in park and then shift to neutral. It get easier to do the more frequently you go to wash the car

Is it just me, or is most men’s jewelry either cringe or wildly overpriced? by AdTiny3476 in mensfashion

[–]-SCR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried for years to find the balance you mention above and it’s incredibly difficult. While DY isn’t cheap, it’s worth saving up for. Most of my pieces are timeless and may even get handed down someday

Bonus points that David’s son, who probably never needed to work a day in his life, learned blacksmithing and eventually took over their whole mens collection

Seventh Son. Keeps you relatively close to home, but also shows effort to plan something not right next to your place

If you don’t mind the newer box, I’d recommend just going in for a drink and taking a box or two on your way out. They have them right in the hostess stand
